Comfy stay
Pros:

We loved the food options at Carve. We also liked how close the hotel was to our broadway shows.

Cons:

Bathroom was small. Also didn't like that one of the entrances was closed.

Amazing location and breakfast
Pros:

Absolutely fantastic location, a stone throw from the heart of Times Square. The style and decor of the hotel is very art deco, 1920s New York style which really enhanced our trip. The grab and go breakfast voucher service from both bond 45 and carve were great value and very handy.

Cons:

There was not much interaction with staff, not many staff members went out of their way to greet you in the morning in the lobby along with the door staff. When we encountered staff, they sorted issues out very quickly but it always felt like you were inconveniencing them from doing other tasks. Our room keys randomly stopped working and it was quickly fixed, a lovely security member of staff came up to the room to do an ID check then gave us new keys but the person on the front desk who was initially dealt with it acted like this was an issue we had caused and wasn’t very warm/friendly - maybe they were having a bad day.

Bathroom was disability access which was weird with shower. We didnt ask for this and door to Bathroom didnt close right Since we were near elevators a bit loud.

Pros:

Location was good, room was passable. Hotel Edison used to be a wonderful place to stay in an historic section of the theatre district but under current management it has sadly declined and the current policy appears to be to rip off guests. Check-in was a disaster, huge groups waiting for a long time before us, desk seriously overwhelmed and understaffed. Check-out a war zone concerning hidden fees and general disappointment. Concerning the room, the complimentary coffee was quite terrible and the machine could not work properly. The one bright feature was that it was fairly easy to get an extra bed cover. The bed was nice and firm. The room was reasonably clean and the wifi worked fairly well. However, one wonders if these were not really included services but bundled into the daily $40 hotel facilities fee.

Cons:

I was truly disappointed with the Edison this trip. The checking in was a disaster. Since my last stay at this hotel which was pre-covid they have added hidden daily room fees that increase the room rate by at least a third. For example, there is a daily $40 fee for use of the hotel facilities now. The only facilities we used were in the room or in restaurants/bars where we paid and provided gratuities. Of course this and other fees were subject to the various city, county and state taxes so the additional hidden expenses were augmented further. The hotel clearly knows this is a potential point of contention because the force authorisation of an additional $100/day o n credit cards knowing full well that almost nothing will be refunded. Overall the facilities have become more shabby. There is evidence that the hotel has been renovated poorly.

Pros:

Good location to Theatre district. Rooms were clean & ample.

Cons:

Room service from Friedman’s Restaurant was non-existent if you wanted to charge it to your room. Requested a blanket and didn’t get it until I called back 2 hours later.

It was OK for what we were doing but I won't stay there again.
Pros:

Location was good for the things were wanted to do. Liked that we could have connecting rooms.

Cons:

Very noisy. Could hear our neighbors blow dryer and television and people stomping around all night above us. Room and especially bathroom were very small and no table or counter space.
