Fehat was incredible! Everything about the day and location was beyond expectations. I’m coming back next week.
De locatie was perfect!
Ik sliep in een kamer waar een soort installatie van de airco/verwarming voor hing. Dit zorgde 24/7 voor een soort harde ruis geluid
Clean, loved the option to have a balcony , staff is very helpful and respectful
The location, and the staff was super nice.

Some desk staff not helpful
De locatie en het personeel
To go ontbijt was ook heel goed

Perfect location for our visit. Our favorite “happy hour” spot (Dos Cominos) was steps away and one of our favorite restaurants was in the hotel, Bond 45 (It never disappoints!) We saw 3 Broadway shows, and the furthest one was one block away. Grab and Go breakfasts were a pleasant surprise too. We liked that security confirmed we had keys before getting access to elevators too.
The biggest complaint was lighting in our room. Even with shades pulled up, the room was dark. Pillows a bit “tired” too. But mattress comfortable. Another issue was noise. Every now and then it sounded like someone was banging on “pipes.” We assumed it was just the heat but it was loud, almost like construction in the room. It only lasted a few minutes but repeated a few times. Surprisingly we didn’t hear neighbors in adjacent rooms or corridors and the hotel was busy with families and kids. (That’s a plus.) The final con I’ll admit is nitpicky. While the Grab and Go breakfast was delicious, we had other eating plans. So one morning I asked if we could substitute 2 extra coffees and forgo the croissants and breakfast sandwiches. The server refused. That’s ridiculous. Instead we had to pay $6.58 in the restaurant for an extra coffee. I can see if we asked for extra food, but coffee?
I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience with Hotel Edison following a serious incident has been extremely disappointing.
When leaving the hotel for JFK Airport, a taxi was arranged directly outside the property by one of the hotel’s doormen. Before we entered the vehicle, the doorman and driver appeared to know each other and spent a short time chatting and laughing together. As guests, we trusted that transportation facilitated by hotel staff would be legitimate and safe.
During the journey several concerning issues became apparent. The driver never activated the meter at any point, the driver identification displayed inside the vehicle was facing away from passengers and not visible, and part of the taxi number appeared to be obscured. The driver also drove aggressively throughout the journey, swerving between lanes, accelerating rapidly and braking harshly, which made the trip genuinely uncomfortable.
When we arrived at JFK Terminal 4, once we had already exited the vehicle and were holding our luggage, the driver informed us the fare was $120 and demanded payment in cash. He then demanded an additional $20 tip while standing extremely close and pressuring for payment.
In total we were forced to pay $140 in cash.
This was particularly concerning as the official flat fare for a yellow taxi between Manhattan and JFK Airport is $70, with normal surcharges typically bringing the total to roughly $85–$100. The amount demanded therefore significantly exceeded the standard regulated fare.
After returning home I contacted the hotel to report the incident. It took several follow-up emails before I received an initial response. In that response the hotel acknowledged the seriousness of the situation, confirmed that an internal investigation had been initiated, and stated that I would receive a substantive update by Friday.
That update never came.
Since then I have sent multiple additional follow-up emails over several weeks and have received no further response whatsoever.
For a hotel charging significant nightly rates and a substantial facility fee, guests should be able to trust that taxis facilitated directly outside the hotel by staff are legitimate and safe. Equally, when a guest reports a serious safety concern and potential overcharging, the hotel should follow through on its commitment to investigate and respond.
Due to the lack of follow-up after repeated attempts to resolve this directly, I will now be pursuing the matter further through the appropriate regulatory and consumer channels.
The best thing is the restaurant Gypsy Rose where the servers sing Broadway songs while they work.
The walls are very thin and you can hear people and crying kids very loudly.
Location was the best! The hotel was "nice". Enjoyed the jewelry in the lobby. Check in staff was amazing!
Overpriced for the amenities offered. Breakfast not all that great although much appreciated. Lobby very overcrowded most of the time.
La ubicación es optima y el personal muy amable.
