Staff were all very helpful, hotel was spotlessly clean and in a great location. Easy walking distance to Golden Gai area and also Memory Lane, where there are numerous bars and restaurants. Short taxi ride from Shinjuku train station. Onsen was a bew experience but one we really enjoyed, the view over the city was very good especially at night
Bar closes a bit early.
Comfy bed, quiet atmosphere, rooftop onsen, restaurant, service
There was nowhere to put my clothes in my room; this was a real inconvenience
Location was a few minutes further away from the station than I would have liked
This was my second time in a row staying at Yuen, and nice again it impressed me. Everything is very clean, modern and well maintained. The entire hotel is designed to give you a peaceful and upscale experience. The staff are very attentive. The baths have great views of the city at all times of the day. The viewing room off the baths is the best part. After watching the sunset from the onsen, lounge in your yukata while eating the best ice cream bar ever and taking in the Tokyo view.
The rooms are a bit small, as per usual in Tokyo. I suggest paying the extra for a larger than basic room. Next time I will try that.
I liked the very clean and stylish room and the delicious breakfasts and dinners. The staff were so kind and helpful. We chose thus onsen because we wanted to enjoy Japanese cuisine and it was so delicious.
Nothing, it was all perfect
The location is perfect. So close, yet still very quiet area. 7/11 right across the hotel. The entrance is beautiful.
We stayed for 1 night and then we were flying out so organising our luggage in a twin room was challenging so next time I would choose a bigger room.
L’ambiance zen
Pretty lobby, and nice restaurant with welcome treats
It’s so tiny and suffocating.
Onsen Ryokan Yuen Shinjuku is top-notch! The professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness of the facilities, the amenities, the combination of traditional and modern, the location, and the on-site restaurant - still the best breakfast experience over my now ten days in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Okinawa. One more week to break the record.
I loved everything! The location is central to everything Tokyo has to offer. I walked and Ubered everywhere. I could have taken the train, but I opted to stay above ground for the sights.
Erg mooi hotel, uit de drukte maar perfect op wandelafstand van de levendige buurt Shinjuku. Mooi interieur, rustgevend, heerlijk traditioneel ontbijt.
The great service. onsen and room design
The room was too small
