The location is central and had no problems getting there. There is a pay park park next door. The foyer is stylish and most of the staff are welcoming.
I didn't realise that most rooms don't have minibars and I think this is a mistake. It was Mother's day weekend and was busy. When checking in, we were told that we could have breakfast in bed so decided to book it but the young lady on the desk was quite aloof and told us we could, but they would only be willing to provide breakfast buns. So, so far, no minibar, no breakfast in bed...which when the hotel is busy is very convenient. Especially if you just want a soft drink or water. However they still take a £50 deposit which makes no sense if there isn't a mini-bar? I was bombarded with messages about how they could assist to make our stay special before we arrived. As it was my son's Birthday, I asked if they could put a balloon in the room or some sort if surprise for him. We did receive a card and a tiny chocolate probably for the resident mouse but the request was basically ignored. For a hotel that is supposed to be one of the top in Manchester the experience was dissapointing. We were kept awake all night by someone in the room above running the shower which was bizarre - not the hotel's fault but did top the weekend off!

Mostly the grill was a bit disappointing we were expecting really nice wine selection and most wines were out of stock before Easter weekend. The wine list was also a bit disappointing for a steakhouse. The ambiance lacked music.
Lovely bed and a great bathroom.
This sounds very petty, but for a high class hotel I’d have expected a soft close toilet seat. I left go of the seat, on my first use, and let the seat drop thinking it was a soft close and I was shocked it didn’t break! Parking needs to be addressed with a specific one to use and this be clear on the website, even with a link to book your parking space.
Room was lovely, bed extremely comfy - had a great sleep. Valet service was also great, and the gentleman who retrieved our car was very helpful and friendly - Mark.
The Dakota grill was disappointing. We had some small bites at the bar at lunch, order was wrong with drinks and food. Incorrect beer and forgot the chips - which arrived much later. Again, was not impressed with the breakfast, ordered cheese and meats from the menu to arrive before the hot food, waited at least 20 minutes and then arrived alongside the hot food order - staff said they would put my hot food under a grill if I wanted to wait - not great. Limited choices on the buffet.
