Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Champaign

Just returned from a stay at this property with a soccer team. When we arrived it was obvious they were in the middle of a renovation so things weren't perfect. The pool was down but we were able to use the pool across the parking lot at the Courtyard and it did not cause any real inconvenience. The staff was phenomenal! It was very busy when we checked in and Megan, at the front desk, was all by herself. She was running around making popcorn, stocking fresh baked cookies, and making sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. The young lady who provided breakfast both mornings was also very friendly and went out of her way to help our group. The breakfast provided had a wide variety of hot and cold offerings and was very good. Just really pleasant people. The room was fresh with brand new decor, furniture, and a very large television. There were some spots in the bathroom where it looked like they were still completing the renovations but had to stop (ceiling looked like it had been patched and someone was going to come through sand and paint and the tub looks like it needs to be resurfaced). The hotel was full and I'm pretty sure the entire area was with softball and soccer teams so it makes sense. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

It was non existent at this site. We had to go to a sister hotel to get breakfast. We needed to be on the road early, but had to wait as breakfast was not served until 7 am.

The breakfast was good, staff friendly, overall the stay was good 😊

They went out of their way to celebrate a local university graduation with decorations and treats. I was impressed by the personal touches.

I wouldn't recommend due to the mold/mildew smell that managment is trying to hide with cleaning products. It was not clean, customer service was nonexistent. Many other hotels in the area to choose from. This reminded me of a poorly kept low budget motel.

That it was a Marriott property, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of a bigger city which made me feel like I was in a safe area. Multiple dining & shopping places in the direct area. Check in was quick and easy. Decent pool and the bed was extremely comfortable which is a win for me. Bathroom could’ve been a little cleaner as there was hair in the shower but other than that it was a nice convenient hotel extremely well priced compared to others in the area. Would stay again.

Filthy and stained bathtubs and water clogging in sink and bat tubs. Rude support staff and barely any breakfast. Paying premium prices and yet this kind of experience is just a waste of money and opportunity, Even the leadership at this facility does not even care to call back after multiple phone calls and follow ups.

We have been here before and it is IBJ price season as parents are moving their kids into college.

The conduct of the hotel staff was misleading and lacked professionalism. We consulted multiple tour associates, each offering contradictory information. While the first three assured us that the gift card could be used for payment, the final associate denied it with an untruthful explanation.

I expressed that this was the most unpleasant hotel experience I’ve ever had and that I intended to file a complaint. The associate remained silent. We left feeling misled and scammed, as false promises were made simply to secure our booking.

Additionally, the hotel’s actual condition was far below what was advertised online. We strongly believe this property is not a true Marriott-managed hotel but rather a franchise. Unfortunately, it reflects poorly on the Marriott brand and undermines its reputation.
