Confirmed late arrival, room not ready at 1 am, then told to pay double or leave
Pros:

Location on 54th is excellent for Central Park and the theatre district.

Cons:

We arrived at 1:00 am with two children aged 5 and 7, asleep in our arms. We'd told the hotel in writing through Booking that we'd arrive late and needed the sofa bed made up. The hotel replied and confirmed it. At check-in I asked again, and the receptionist confirmed the note was on the reservation. We went up. The sofa bed wasn't made. The room wasn't ready for a family of four at 1 am.

I went back down and asked for a room with two beds. I was told that would be an "upgrade" and I'd have to pay roughly double. I asked for a refund so we could find another hotel. First I was told no refund was possible. Then I was told the reservation could be cancelled only if we vacated the room immediately, at 1:30 am, with two small children sleeping on a sofa. At one point four staff stood around one guest: receptionist, security, a manager and another person. I raised my voice once. Security asked me to calm down within seconds. Nobody apologized. We ended up waiting for the sofa bed to be made and staying.

For a Luxury Collection property, this isn't a service failure. It's the absence of any service-recovery instinct. The room was fine. The people weren't.

Muy buen hotel. Lo recomiendo!

Habitación y baño amplios, limpios, bien amueblados

Cons:

Lo único que tengo para criticar es el desayuno. Hubiera preferido el sistema “buffet” en el cual cada uno elige las distintas opciones

Great place to stay!
Pros:

Spacious rooms. Close to everything, but not where it's too loud and busy. Highly recommend!

Lage, Lage, Lage
Pros:

Ich war schon mehrmals in Hotels in NYC, doch dieses war bisher das beste. Die Lage ist optimal: Times Square, Central Park, MoMA, Rockefeller Center und die Broadway-Bühnen sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Auch die Geschäfte an der Fifth Avenue liegen nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Auch meine morgendliche Laufrunde konnte ich somit leicht im Central Park absolvieren - daher blieb der Fitnessraum ungenutzt.

Cons:

Wenn man etwas kritisieren möchte: Das das Bett unserer Kinder (Sofa) quietschte und eigentlich nicht ganz dem Standard entspricht.
