Tired and not worth the money.
Three lifts and only 1 worked.
A £324 suite with aged yellow Aircon which didn't work - and reception didn't have any record of a maintenance problem.
Maintenance guy called and just went home.
Reallocated a room eventually which was lovely as long as you didn't want any shower gel.
A Rioja wine in the empty bar was slightly alcoholic blackcurrant juice. A complimentary ticket for 'any two drinks' was anything but...
Restaurant food, better to order a 'Just Eat', much better menu and options.
Tired. Overpriced. Could be excellent. Actually a great location, that's all it's got going for it.
This was booked as a last-minute break on myhotelbreak.com, a company that I’ve used previously with mixed success, but this time is was a good deal.
Arriving by car, the hotel is easy to get to, just off New Quay, one of the roads running parallel to the Mersey. It is well located for the dockside attractions, as well as the main shopping areas, both just a few minutes’ walk away. I should have checked directions for the car park in advance, which isn’t obviously marked (it is in Rumford Place - first left uphill from reception and then on the right, through the archway for Bulloch House), and ended up in the NCP behind the hotel on Fazakerley Street (£17.50/24 hours).
We were checked in by Daniel, who was very friendly and helpful. When he heard it was our first visit to Liverpool he provided a map and marked on various places to visit, knowing we only had enough time to get a flavour of the city, which turned out to be some excellent recommendations.
We were upgraded to a Premier room, which was L-shaped and had a panoramic window view out to the Mersey, with a partial view of the Royal Liver Building. The room itself was large and the first thing that was noticeable on entry was great air conditioning (it was hitting 30 degrees when we arrived). The bed was large and comfortable. There was a fridge (empty). Plenty of storage space. Plenty of power sockets to charge devices, including beside the bed. Large television with plenty of channels. Coffee machine with 4 coffee pods.
The bathroom was quite small by comparison. A deep bath with overhead shower and secondary handheld shower. Plenty space to sit toiletries and mist-free mirror. Most importantly, it was very clean with no mould, which I always think is a sign of good maintenance.
The hotel was very quiet, probably due to it being a Sunday, so breakfast was a combination of continental buffet and cooked to order, which I much prefer. Plenty variety and no portion scrimping.
Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
Note that if you are staying for more than a night, the room is only serviced every 3rd day, unless you ask for it (there is a QR code to scan in the bathroom). There are spare towels in the wardrobe.
There were a few parts of the stay that have dropped my review from 5 stars to 4. Some parts of the hotel look like they are a bit tired, but it does look as if there has been a revamp that is ongoing. There were 3 lifts, however only one was working during our stay, which wouldn’t normally be enough for a hotel with (I think) 12 floors – just as well it was a quiet Sunday. Not every pillow had a protective cover on under the pillow slip. This could be an oversight, seeing as they are clearly in use. I prefer a walk-in shower to a bath and found this one really difficult getting into due a combination of it being very deep and a limited space due to the shower screen.
Overall, I was very happy with the stay, particularly taking the price into account. It meets the criteria that I set to measure any hotel stay – would I stay again and would I recommend it? Yes, to both.
the location was great
the room was tiny for a family room ac was on top of the sofa bed and the person on the sofa bed was very uncomfortable
Location of excellent
2 out of three lifts out of order
Air conditioning broken in room
Great location, clean and comfortable room.
Only 1 lift was working at the premises out of 3.
Good

Friendly really expecting reception staff helped us a great deal when stayingvto visit daughter at Walton
Location and parking
Unfortunately 2 of the lifts weren’t working which was a bit inconvenient- also I thought breakfast was in the cost but it wasn’t so I thought the stay was a bit expensive
Overal tidy. lifts trerrible. Only one lift was operationalol out of potentially three. Very bad news when the coach parties arrived. Very happy with the roof terrace bar. i think it is called the VU bar. Great place to be with fantastic vires and for me the music was in line with my age.
lifts were terrible. very small en suit bathroom and dangerous as there were no grab handles. You take your life into your own hands when trying to have a shower.
There was only one lift working
Location was fab overlooking the river Mersey, air conditioning was incredible 2 lifts were out of service, but these things happen, you just have to be patient and wait for the 1 lift that was working !! Room was lovely clean and comfortable, coffee tea biscuits brilliant. Would definitely stay again the staff helpful and happy to chat.
Just the lights really but again these things happen happen and if you don't let them ruin your stay then everything else will be fine.
Very central, close to restaurants and shops. Great view of the river.
Only 1 lift working which wasn’t ideal.
In una ottima posizione. Personale presente e disponibile. Camera familiare. Materasso comodo. Bagno con vasca. Aria condizionata. Abbiamo potuto lasciare le valigie alla reception dopo il check out.
Con il divano letto aperto gli spazi erano ristretti. Il materasso del divano letto era scomodo. Le finestre non si potevano aprire. Due su tre ascensori erano fuori servizio.
Location and staff.
Nothing really.
Super Lage! Parkplätze um die Ecke gar kein Problem! Für 24 Stunden 17,50 GBP!!! Personal äußerst bemüht! Alles sehr sauber und nicht abgewohnt! Weiter empfehlen!
