Great stay
Pros:

Our stay was awesome
What made it incredible was Gordie (Gordon) from the concierge he was so helpful and so good at making recommendations and arrangements that made our trip completely and absolutely wonderful. He’s the reason I’d go back again.

Nice bones, but needs some work
Pros:

The hotel has SO much to offer. The location is great, walking distance to downtown Palm Springs. We parked the car and walked all weekend. The staff is OUTSTANDING. everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Shout out to Rodney at breakfast: fast and efficient. The pool is large and there’s lots of seating, both in the sun and with umbrellas.

The hotel is really needs a face lift. The rooms are large, the balconies are great. However, the balcony door was difficult to open, the lock didn’t work. The fridge froze all of our food, the cabinet holding the fridge didn’t close. Wood cabinets in the bedroom and bath were chipped and worn. Carpets through the entire property don’t need a deep cleaning, they need to be replaced.

At the pool, loungers were plentiful, but they are old and worn. Lots of umbrellas, but many didn’t work, (stay open) making them useless. Towels both in the room and pool are worn thin, frayed and in one case has holes.

We love the location and the hotel has a lot to offer, but for the price we are paying, I’d expect the property be maintained better.

I would do an AirBNB next time.
Pros:

The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. Poolside view was pretty good. When we asked a second person about the details to the parking charge they did give us free parking, we just were nice to them and they gave it to us.

Cons:

The TV in the room did not work properly while the hotel was full. It might have been satellite or something but when there were clearly less guests by the weekday it worked. Despite having a large parking lot and there being ample parking the hotel charges its guests 36$/day for parking which seems like a gouging. Prices at the hotel were high for low quality food and drinks. Overall the hotel's common spaces were dirty and unkept and could have used a vaccuming, sweeping, cleaning etc. There was a lot of trash around the hotel and the lobby. Carpets were pretty badly stained. During the weekend the hotel was clearly pretty booked up and there were no chairs to use at the pool so we were to able to enjoy that. Many people held chairs with towels without using them and the pool was a main reason we booked here so we did not get to enjoy it.

Great stay at the Renaissance!
Pros:

The Renaissance is a very nice hotel in a perfect location 3 blocks from downtown Palm Springs. Great hospitality from the entire staff from check in to departure. Could not have had a more relaxing experience enjoying the pool and all the amenities. We will definitely stay there next time.
