Facilities good breakfast was good apart from the orange juice which was awful
Noisy and orange juice with breakfast was absolutely awful
The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were excellent and my son liked the gym. Sauna was a bit lacklustre. The breakfast was good and the rooms were of a high standard. It was about a 15 minute walk to the city centre and maybe 35 minutes to Cardiff Bay. The hotel was great but I’d stay somewhere a bit more central next time, the area around it isn’t particularly nice and the additional parking fee of £27 a day was a nasty surprise.
As above. Location mainly
I recently stayed at Novotel and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with excellent facilities and a welcoming atmosphere.
What truly made my stay exceptional was Hayley. She was absolutely amazing from start to finish—friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. Her warm attitude and outstanding customer service made me feel genuinely valued as a guest.
Thank you, Hayley, for making my stay so memorable. You are a real credit to the Novotel team. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to others.
Very family friendly , always very clean . The staff are incredible
Bed I did struggle to sleep a bit
Close to venue for a concert we attended, food and bar on site, discount on car parking when staying at the hotel
All good nothing not to like
Location.
Receptionist on arrival was fantastic and really helpful and welcoming.
The room needed a bit of TLC, window made a very loud noise all the time through the night whenever the wind blew. Mentioned it when leaving as didnt want to move rooms etc in the night but reception just said will raise with maintenance.
Was an executive room but was not looked after and needed repairs such as door stoppers coming completely out the fixings and on the floor. Not what I have experienced at other Novotels I have stayed at unfortunately.
Also had issues with one of the evening meals - steak was not cooked correctly. That was resolved but obvs not ideal for the cost and my partner had finished their meal by the time my new one came out.
Friendly staff on teception
Bath would not empty
Shower took 5 mins to get to get warm
Had to have morning shower in 3 inch of cold water in bath
Pillows very light and flimsy no support
Facilities staff and location
The spa and pool
Nice hotel, a bit run down in places, good location. Staff were friendly on check in but cleaning staff were quite rude on more than one occasion.
Waiting to check in and cleaning staff hoovered in front of me and we had to wait. The receptionist apologised but looked mortified. Also, we waited for the lift and two cleaners barged in from of me so I took the stairs. Communal areas quite dirty and in need of a paint. Rooms were ok but need a lick of paint.
Nice welcome, most of the staff were very helpful during my stay. I had a large comfortable room - the slippers and dressing gown were a nice surprise. Hotel had a lovely pool, jacuzzi and steam room (and sauna but it wasn't very hot) and a gym, all of which I used. Was able to leave my luggage which was helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Only one lift working, no herbal teas in the room but staff gave me some - no problems. No plug for the bath but again a helpful staff member found me one. Shower not very powerful, one in the pool area much better. Would also be good to have some means of locking the lockers when you swim.
Hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk into centre of Cardiff (via a main road so not too bad).
Although we didn’t take the children on this short trip, there was so much for children to do, PlayStation, Xbox, games corner etc. was brilliant for anyone taking children. The beds were so comfy I genuinely struggled to get up. The pool was a lovely temperature considering it was warm outside.
The staff were lovely and so helpful when we tried to book a taxi etc.
There was no water in the room so had to use the tap.
The windows were very small.
