The staff was very friendly when I had an issue they addressed it. The decor is a little dated, and I was disappointed that only cable was available. I wish they would have the updated TV service that allows you to watch your Netflix, HBO, etc. the breakfast was good. The Ice machine on my floor was not working. Unfortunately I could not enjoy the pool because there was a rowdy pool party there. There were some rambunctious teenagers who interrupted my workout in the fitness center. They were horsing around and being noisy. That is not a Wyndam problem that is a parenting problem. This property is good for a quick visit to Ann Arbor. The room was comfortable and affordable.
Fun family hotel! Spacious! Updated rooms. Great value! We brought in the new Year with friends and family. Lots of common areas to hang out and play games.
The hotel interior is attractive, spacious. The room is attractive, clean. However, the desk is almost useless - poor lighting, very high, very shallow. Could only lay a folded newspaper on it. Temperature control was not functional. In late December, the room was VERY warm, regardless of how much the temperature setting was turned down, even to 63! And the heater was noisy. The only solution was to turn it off, even though the outside temperature was well below freezing. Breakfast is typical - eggs, sausage, tater tots.
Bathroom area needs deep cleaning & mold removal. Continue to hold my breath, and turning blue while I wait for that 0445 wake up call.
If I could give zero or negative stars I would. This was by far the worst hotel experience of my life. I use the term "hotel" very loosely. My sister booked this place for a family event at the University of Michigan campus. We stayed Wednesday 11-19-25 night and checked out on Friday am 11-21-25.
As soon as we walked in the chlorine smell was overpowering. When we were pointed in the direction of stairs to get to our room-I thought, "Are you kidding? No elevator? That is against the law!" We carried our bags up at least 15-20 steps, down a hall and to the room. It was extremely small and the bathroom had no door! when you opened the room door you could see someone standing at the bathroom vanity!
Upon asking about an elevator, we were pointed to the opposite end of the hotel. We got on it and when it opened, it did not connect at any way to our room. Again, this a 2 story "hotel"
Once we were in the room, we checked for bedbugs, found none, but I still wonder if our room even had fresh sheets as the fitted one had wrinkles in the middle! the curtain was closed on a large window as if it was a motel room on the street-even though we were on the second floor. Very strange. And at night-the room was not even dark enough for sleep. The chlorine odor was permeating our room as well as a mildew smell throughout.
The overpowering chlorine smell was coming from an indoor pool and hot tub! From our view on the second floor, we could see the pool was dirty with sediment on the bottom and a pale green color. Disgusting. Carpet was dirty, discolored and bleach spots throughout.
The staff (front desk personnel) were clearly not interested. One clerk was standing outside the front entrance taking a smoke break during our stay.
My sister booked this room-and I certainly went along against my better judgement. I know she felt so bad, feeling stuck and ripped off. I regret that I didn't take us both to the Hampton next door where we have always received very good accommodations. I plan on reporting this place to the Board of Health. It is a health hazard for the chlorine and mildew smells alone. Let alone the filth throughout. No one should be staying at this so called hotel and it should be condemned.
Great location and the bus stop in front of the hotel for the big house was even greater. Ot saved us a lot of money for parking during game day.
Staff was nice and room is dated but clean my only complaint is my electronic devices computer do not stay in the outlet to chsrge
The hotel is dated and in need of a remodel. The parking was limited. The room was OK, but I wouldn’t stay here again.
Must have car.
excellent staff, clean room
Great staff, very clean, comfy beds
Breakfast was blah. Waffle machines, packets of instant oatmeal - no fixings, frozen puffed sausages, bagels/toast, artificially sweetened yogurt, sugary cereal.... :(
Unfortunately our stay wasn't long enough to see/enjoy the hot tub or pool.
It was great
We arrived at about 0130AM because our flight was delayed. The keypads to unlock the door was not working upon check-in. We were issued new set of key cards that also did not work. They moved us to a different room but the keypads on the door also did not work. All the while we were on hallways with our luggage waiting to get a room. We had a long day. They were able to get us in a room by a staff manually opening the door with a physical master key as the card reader battery was dead. They had the battery changed the next day.
The only good thing about this property was the shuttle right outside to the U of M game. The rest was nasty. Small, dank room, pool gross, dirty vibe...way overpriced at several hundred dollars a night - even for the convenience. Just generally, "ewww".
The Air Conditioner wasn’t working. Waiting for 40 minutes at midnight for someone to fix it or give us a fan. They said they were the only one working and it would be a hassle.. and they never did either. The blackout curtains didn’t work and when someone used the water in the room above us it made a horrible screeching sound in our room.
Many outlets in the room did not work. Room was clean, but worn. Breakfast was good.
Very clean, we had a great time!
AC in room didn’t work and they couldn’t fix or move us. It was a sauna. Outlets in room weren’t working and the one under the desk sparked when we tried to check connection. This was the only hotel available or we would have moved.
It’s alright for overnight stay
