Dated decor. Breakfast was solidly underwhelming.
We had a large king room with kitchen, for a week in January. It was very spacious, but felt the towels were rather thin, but they did the job!
Breakfast was a huge assortment of hot and cold options which everyone seemed to enjoy. A personal preference would be to have raisin bran or bran flakes on the menu, but we love cereal, while most people really enjoyed the hot options. We were pleased to see that fruit loops was not in the options.
Location is great, we have stayed here many times in the past, but never for the week, and we will definitely be returning here next time we are in Victoria. The area is beautiful, and probably a bit quieter than the other hotel options just five minutes away.
All in all, we would definitely recommend this hotel for sure. They have secured underground parking and outdoor parking as well.
Great location for walking downtown and the breakfast was excellent! Very comfortable beds and love the espresso machine in the room
Adding things such as hand/body lotion to the amenities
Great location and breakfast was good
Very accommodating staff.
Comfortable and very clean
Breakfast was way better than most offered at hotels
Some construction nearby. Not their fault
It is rare that one finds one of those grand old hotels of yesteryear that is still able to compete (and then some) with the modern, ho-hum hotels we have sadly had to get used to. Huntingdon Manor (now renamed Hotel and Suites) is one such hotel. Which is what keeps us coming back year after year for our escape from the eastern Canadian winter.
Over recent years the hotel has undergone major updates without losing its old-fashioned charm, and without having to charge the shocking prices that everyone has been forced to accept at most modern hotels since the COVID pandemic, for no apparent reason.
But more than that, the staff at Huntingdon treat you like an honoured guest, not as a source of funding for the company's coffers as others seem to see one unfortunately.
Give it a try. I promise you, you won't regret it.
Hannah checked us in, she was great. We had our dog with us and were super impressed with the pup package we were given.
Location is great.
Our room price included free parking and breakfast which we appreciated.
The room was super clean and I really liked the triple sheeting on the beds. There were lots of towels and all the basics were there. However we had silverfish in our bathroom.
The breakfast was really decent. We had a grandchild with us for one of the mornings and the front desk was kind enough to give us a complimentary pass. All the staff at breakfast were so nice and the service was good too.
We are so happy with our two-week stay! Thank you to ALL staff for many kindnesses. Our room was quiet with a very comfortable bed. We appreciated the house-keeping staff who attended to every detail; they deserve commendation! The buffet breakfast was a wonderful way to start each day with relaxation, and again, with attentive staff. Thank you so much to the reception staff who did more for us than we expected! We hope to see many of you again.
In a good location, staff were nice. Don’t match photos online for cleanliness or room quality
For $150 a night, it’s the same as 1000 rundown places across the country. Pictures looked good, everything was fine, but compared to other hotels in that area, I should have spent the extra $30 a night. Also, I’ve never seen more signs asking for tips. I counted 5 plus one per table in the breakfast area alone, plus 2 in my room.
Clean and comfortable. A lovely 5 min walk to town. Breakfast was simple but enough options for us all to find something we enjoyed.
We had problems turning the heater on but the staff were excellent and helped us straight away.
The breakfast was great and fulfilling. The location was so amazing and a very close walk to all of the hotspots. The room was the perfect size and very clean. Will definitely stay here again!
This historic hotel was in an excellent location for seeing all the sights of Victoria. We enjoyed the delicious continental breakfast, friendly and efficient staff, and sparkling clean rooms.
