The staff were over and above helpful and friendly. Everything felt special.
Not a negative just some tips. At breakfast it isn’t obvious where the sauces are as they are in jam jars as well as no knives to spread butter on toast etc other than main cutlery on the table already used to eat breakfast with. Would also suggest a lamp on the table where the kettle is as hard to see there without disturbing sleep of other person in the room.
Check in was lovely. The member of staff was very professional and charming. He enquired about the reason for our stay and was very funny. The room itself had been decorated to welcome us as I had informed the hotel that we were beginning celebrations for my birthday. There were balloons, a lovely handwritten message on the mirror and towels shaped into swans with a teddy bear for my daughter who, even though she's 28, adored! Later that evening when we returned from shopping there was a bottle of chilled prosecco in an ice bucket along with sweet treats. All in all we had a lovely stay.
The room itself did look a bit tired. The bathroom was a good size but the water pressure in the shower was poor and the grouting needed replacing. There was a distinct lack of plug sockets for the coffee machine and the kettle. We had to put them on the floor under the tv to use them.
I took my friend for afternoon tea for her birthday . The food was amazing and presentation was spectacular. This is probably one of the best afternoon teas I’ve had.
The service from Jazvita was exceptional without being at all intrusive. The weather was extremely hot and she kept topping up our water and making sure we was both ok.
Would definitely recommend and look forward to booking again.
I am kind of glade my friend and I saved this place for last on our 10-day trip to Europe. The Dilly is top notch in every category and has some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. Everything from the moment we stepped on site was first class level service and friendly/helpful staff who advised us on everything from dinner reservations to local transportation to the best pubs in town.
The pool was sadly down while we were there, sadly, so we didn’t get to see it.
My absolute only complaint would be the noise level on the floor from the other guests slamming their doors shut, stomping around, etc. Not sure if much can be done to buffer that in an older hotel, but might be worth a look.
La localisation. Le buffet du petit déjeuner.
Le chauffe-serviette était brûlant en pleine canicule, sans pouvoir le régler. Les réceptionnistes gagneraient a être un peu plus souriants.
Location was amazing, so much to do right outside the hotel. The dining and bar areas where 5 star quality and the facilities like the pool, squash courts and golf simulator are not something ive seen inside a hotel before. The personalised welcome was a class touch, spelling my daighters name in flower petals on the bed was such a great experience for her when we got into the room
While the hotel was 5 star, our room was not. It was a nice room however very out dated. The bathroom was quite small, there was a sizeable stain on the carpet and there was no phone in the room (except the emergency phone on the bathroom wall) which was unfortunate as we would have liked some room service after we returned to the hotel after our event. For the price we paid for 1 night, it seems we paid for the location and facilities rather than the actual room.
The location is excellent. We always choose the Dilly as the staff are so accommodating and the hotel is so central you can walk to most places rather than take the underground option. Finally the breakfast is top class.
Breakfast was excellent, no traffic light system, plenty of choice, quality food, plentiful.
Room was well presented, and the welcome touches were amazing and "made" the stay.
Staff on the whole were excellent and helpful - see what I didn't like re. a couple of experiences.
very welcoming
Bedrooms were under going renovation but there was no dirt or noise despite the room next door being striped back to brickwork.
The room was a little smaller than expected, surfaces were already cluttered leaving little room for own belongings. Lack of power outlets for charging electronics. USB points didn't work.
Shower screen didn't keep water off the floor!
complementary hot chocolate powder in the drinks selection would have been great considering you knew I was travelling with a 12 year old.
Hairdryer faulty and no concentration nozzle which led to bad hair days.
Promised a view of an iconic landmark---it was there if you looked at an angle stood with face pressed to the window.
The towel animals were removed too quickly! Much to my daughter's dismay.
Room service was a major issue - we phoned three times and got disconnected. Then I tried the front desk - they said they would place an order. After an hour I phoned back, they said they would chase. 45 mins later still no show. the front desk said the order had never been received and no calls were logged. In a 5 star hotel I expect room service calls to be answered and for the service to work. There was no where else to get drinks or food in the hotel!! Where did my calls go?? it worries me that someone took my call and did nothing with it. And has left a really bad impression for me and my daughter.
Swimming pool was closed, we weren't notified.
Corridors were very warm.
Good location. Breakfast was pretty good.
Breakfast was expensive.
Everything was perfect! The location, the facilies, the room, the friendly staff
Just a perfect hotel!
The staff were very friendly especially in the restaurant and the concierge team. The location is fantastic for sightseeing in Central London.
Air conditioning in the bedroom not fit for purpose.Room exceedingly hot as heated towel rail could not be turned off. Fridge not working either.
We are staying at the hotel now and it’s very disappointing. It’s nowhere near a 5 star hotel. The rooms are simply awful and not a scratch on other comparable hotels in the area. The pools closed, the residents bar is closed for a private function, mouldy bathroom, antiquated fixtures and fittings and the highlight was two random towel animals with a pair of cadburys flakes wrapped in a B&M party banner stating “welcome home”? I’m only just getting the plastic rose petals out my bum cheeks now there was that many. So Tacky it’s almost comical. For an extra £20 there’s at least 10 better hotels in the area. Alex the barman in the nice Indian bit next door was the standout positive of the night.
Very rough night all round. Embarrassing for me bringing my son here when we usually stay in such nice places locally to here for similar money.
