We'd stay there again because the location is convenient for visiting a relative in the area.
Pros:

We liked the staff's responsiveness to a problem that we had. The staff was extremely friendly, efficient and accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. When we checked out, the manager proactively brought up the incident from the night before (see below) and offered to refund us for one night's stay. That was something that we did not request or expect.

Cons:

Through no fault of the staff, there was a ruckus in the adjoining room at midnight that went on for quite a while. The staff did not hesitate for one moment to give us another room down the hall. Ultimately, the staff needed to call the police to physically remove the loud occupants from the premises.

I booked two rooms: one room with two queen beds for a family of four, and another room with a king bed for two adults.

When we checked in, the hotel was oversold and they did not have the two-queen-bed room that I had reserved and paid for. Instead, they gave us a room with one king bed and a sofa bed.

The staff was not helpful or understanding. They repeatedly told me this was an “upgrade,” but I never requested an upgrade. I don’t consider replacing two proper queen beds with a king bed and sofa bed an upgrade, especially when the room I specifically booked was unavailable.

I was also charged for the two-queen-bed room even though I did not receive the room I paid for. We ultimately had to book another room at a different hotel at the last minute, which was extremely inconvenient for our family.

There was very little empathy or effort to resolve the situation. This was a very disappointing experience, and I honestly did not expect this level of service from a Marriott-branded hotel.

This was a last minute reservation, so I was pleasantly surprised at this facility.

Make your trip to Alexandria memorable by staying at Fairfield Inn and Suites.
Pros:

The staff was warm and welcoming, the desk lady was awesome.Too bad that I forgot her name but she speaks french as well.The breakfast was excellent.Kudos!!!
