Andres was super helpful getting our car. He was very courteous and kind and helped us get all of our stuff in our car. We were on a time crunch and he went out of his way to make sure we were all set. Marriott is lucky to have this guy working for them!!!
Awesome hotel. Bay front was amazing. We slept with the curtains opened because so we can look out to the bay front lights. Excellent room. Mattress is never better than what I have at home. Very nice housekeeping staff that provided extra towels.
Landscaping and pools were beautiful. I felt like we were in Hawaii. Too cool for us to swim but people were in the pools and seemed to like it. Great dining options for quick bites, casual dining, or a little more formal with their onsite Hawaiian Fusion style restaurant.
We stay here frequently and love everything about this hotel. From the moment we drive up to valet parking where their experienced and professional valet, Val, provides excellent customer service and care for our car, to the clean and well kept rooms, to the relaxing poolside bar everything about this Marriott is world class!
We just stayed 4 nights at the Marriott Marquis and had the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation experience. All of the staff we met provided exemplary service and our room on the 23rd floor was truly amazing. We loved the food & beverage offerings at the pool side bar and Marina Kitchen. Location to Gaslamp was perfect. We'll definitely be back.
Great service and beautiful hotel. The hotel guest were very attentive and polite, Jay Arman, Logan & Berkeley (from valet) in specific were beyond attentive and polite.
All the staffs were very nice. Especially the valet staff Jay Arman and Logan. They were really helpful and friendly. This was my first time using valet service and they were patience and friendly towards me.

Value for money for a 5 star propery
Jay Arman greeted us and directed us to the ballroom. He was very pleasant and professional. He also asked us if we need anything else.
Val the Valet was great in helping get my car quickly and loading my bag. I felt bad I didn’t have any tip money but he was very kind and just happy to help me! What an asset!

I stayed here as a Marriott Titanium Elite member. The hotel itself is beautiful and very well located. The waterfront setting, size of the property, and overall atmosphere are impressive and have real five-star potential.
Unfortunately, the service and elite experience fell well short of expectations.
The M Club is advertised as open 24/7, but over the weekend there was effectively no service at all. No breakfast. No snacks. No refreshments. Nothing. This was easily the worst M Club lounge experience I’ve had, including at much lower-tier Marriott properties.
The room experience was also disappointing. There was no meaningful upgrade, no bottled water, and no glassware. For three guests, the room had only two disposable cardboard cups. When I went to the front desk to request additional cups and water, I was told I would need to pay and go to another outlet in the hotel, which was closed at the time. When I asked about breakfast since the M Club offered nothing, the only compensation offered was 1,000 points.
For a Marquis-level property charging premium rates, this feels careless and cheap. This hotel could easily be excellent if basic hospitality standards and elite benefits were taken seriously. As it stands, it feels like a great physical asset that is poorly operated from a service standpoint.
I wanted to love this stay, but based on this experience, I would not consider it a flagship-level property.
