Room 1118 had a view of the city and the pool was very nice. Rooms were clean and well lit up with light from the windows that stretched the length of the room.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like or felt that needed to be better.
The hotel was wonderful, the staff was incredible, and I enjoyed the hospitality. I was checked in my Beau and he helped answer questions and Omar helped me with the valet several times. He was very kind and approachable.
Omar was super sweet and remembered my name after meeting him once before. I enjoyed my experience being served by him at the valet and answering questions I had about tourism.

Jay A. with valet services was amazing !!
The hotel stay was great and staff very professional
, HOWEVER the parking situation is absolutely terrible. First off we were given a parking card for the convention center and not for the main parking, second the main parking was closed so we had to park a bit too far, carrying our luggage was a real pain, then we were given a parking paper with a bar code, that worked, however upon checking out after I explained the parking situation we were given an exit access card, had I not asked about the parking we would not have been given the card. We actually had to wait in line to get out of the parking because two cars did not have the card. It took 20 minutes to get out because of the delay. This complication in uneccessary, it’s just parking right? We love the hotel building but the parking issue maks inaccessible to the room. I should just drive up, park my car, and go to my room. All this to say that our stay was not pleasant, we were there to enjoy a day/night, instead of juggling parking tickets.
I stayed here 2 nights for business and 2 with family. It was a great location and the check in lady was very pleasant and helpful. She also helped us resolve a billing issue at the end. Overall, I really liked it, but the convention center pricing is a bit shocking at first! And they add about a $50 fee to your stay that you may or may not take advantage of, with 2 glasses of wine and use of kayaks.. and a $24 credit on food, but when a buffet breakfast for your family will top $120, it doesn't go far! I think I used it a couple nights of the wine. Gimmicky things like that are irritating. The restaurant is fine.
However, the room was nice and clean with a lovely balcony view of the bay. Housekeeping came 3/4 days, we were short on towels one day but I called and they promptly brought more. This was a great location close to Gaslamp and the marina, so fun stuff within walking distance! There was a concert one night at the nearby venue, and I could definitely hear it from my room, but it didn't seem to run too late, or else I was jet-lagged and didn't mind! The pool and gym were really lovely and nice, although the pool was crowded on the weekend as we were warned.
The windows are nothing close to being sound proof. You can hear the pool and they have loud events with music and over clocked bass that goes till 10 PM. The tv contract doesn’t allow you to watch ABC or ESPN so you can’t watch either the NHL or NBA playoffs. You just sit in your room and listen to the bad music from the event below. And yet we get a message that they will replace the TV. This is the height of stupidity. It’s not the TV, it’s their contract with DirecTV and the crappy windows. That’s what they need to replace. They are in a good location. They couldn’t screw that up. Otherwise, if you’re attending a conference in San Diego, you’re probably better off at the Hilton or Hyatt. And the last thing I was told when I complained was “have a nice evening.” These people are clueless.
