Very convenient location and proximity to the sites we were planning to visit. The beds were very comfortable and parking was ample. Breakfast was good, although the eggs were gone by the time I arrived to eat.
Renovations were on going which seemed to show the age of the property. Hall noise was a bit noticeable, but not overly loud.
The breakfast was very limited in options this time around.
We thought the renovations would be done by now. Very noisy and dirty on first floor.
Nothing! We got there and door wouldn’t open. Hour later we got in. Then walking in the room, it hadn’t been cleaned from previous guest. Went to get new sheets and ended up not even fitting, because I had to change them myself.went all the way back down and finally got sheets! Also it’s moldy and nasty. In middle of renovations so it’s dirty as all get out! Horrible experience and the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Couldn’t pay me to go back

The staff were really nice and helpful. The A/C in the rooms worked very well.
There were guest outside smoking at the front entrance very often. I didn’t enjoy having to walk through cigarette smoke with my infant while trying to get into the hotel every day.
Breakfast was ok for me. But my wife is gluten free/dairy free. There were no breakfast options except an apple for her. You need to make sure there are options as there are many travelers that have these allergies,
You DID have a sign in the lobby to "pardon our dust" because of remodeling. However, some of the things in the room should have been taken care of even with this warning. There were piles of tile grout in the corners of the bathroom, as if some sort of vacuum was used that was circular and could not reach into the corners. There was a rusty drywall screw on the floor next to the bathtub. There were no soaps for the sink. We had to walk over to the tub and take squirts of shampoo to wash our hands. The room door did not close well and really slammed hard when we would enter or leave.
Always love the breakfast. The location is convenient to main roads.
The king room is very small with the sleeper sofa out.
The clerk! L A was awesome! My stay was related to health and her kind words really helped.
Price!
The location
The hotel was under construction. The common areas the hallways were not as clean. our room was missing a working clock and telephone. When we arrived at the TV wasn’t working, which they fixed immediately. One of the elevated doors fell off.
Location is great. Front desk staff is very nice.
Where to begin. Reserved a room with a king bed and sofa pullout. When we reached the room it was a single queen bed, no sofa and a handicapped shower. Worse, it looked like a bad dorm room. The entire property is in desperate need of renovation and I'm actually shocked that Hampton Inn allows its name to be used on this property. Valuables were left in the room and apparently stolen by housekeeping. Worse, repeated calls were never returned. The breakfast is bad--even for a budget hotel. STAY AWAY!!!!
We went to this hotel knowing it was under renovation. But the points were what we needed and the location was too. I figured "so there will be a little dust and noise...we won't be there that much it will be ok. " Well, we saw no evidence of construction. But what we did see was the most run down hotel I've ever been in. I can't believe that Hilton would have let a property get to this degree of deterioration BEFORE they started a renovation. I talked to someone who had stayed 3 years ago and they said they vowed then, they would NEVER go back! Wish I'd talked to them BEFORE we booked. My complaint is not about the construction. My complaint is that it was SO badly in need of renovation. Walls and doors were scarred, carpet frayed, and much of the carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in months! Carpet into the elevator was in shreds and inside was not much better. The eating area looked pretty good from a distance. But when we sat down, I saw the chairs! They were once a gold fabric, but now were all brown from decades of handling. Disgusting! When we arrived, the Christmas decor was still on the outside. Hello, it's February!! Going to our room, I thought if it was as bad inside as it was outside, I was leaving. But thankfully, our room was fine. Maybe it had been renovated. The only complaint with it was it was small and it was a studio! The pictures are deceiving! There is barely enough room between the bed and the cabinetry for one person. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. But did not have the appearance of professionalism at all. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I think the people who welcome you into a hotel, should have on uniforms, be neat and well groomed. They are the face of the hotel! But maybe it's just our lax culture...I've noticed that at every hotel we've stayed at recently. It's sad. One plus I HAVE to give though. As I said, the staff, for the most part, were super nice and the lady who was there our last day was EXTREMELY kind to let us have an extension on our stay. I greatly appreciated that!!! She did not have on a name tag or I'd give her a good review to Hilton. But you can't compliment someone you have no name for....another thing they need to improve!! Oh...one other thing that was good....the afternoon cookies were great! :) My advice to anyone traveling to B'ham....find another hotel!!!
Nothing really
The parking lot was literally so small had to park in the outlet next door. The pool was unusable and there was no kind of note about that. They were under construction without acknowledging any of the guests before we went. Half of the parking lot kept getting blocked off due to the construction, so it was an extra 20 minutes to go around town to park into it. The bathroom in my room was still dirty had hair all over the power went out due to the construction. When trying to lay down, there was banging and tool noises.
Not good. Oatmeal was cold, no variety.
The facility seemed run down
It's time for a remodel. The hotel is in a great location, but it seems to be tired and showing wear and tear. I will stay somewhere else next time.
Service was great.
The area and cleanliness
Rooms not up to date
Location
The hotel is outdated with the smallest bathroom I've ever seen at a hotel.
The employees were nice and really tired to help but not much you can do when property is so run down.
Very run down and very dirty. Carpets did not look like they had been vacuumed in days. The room was in bad shape the sink did not drain, the towels had holes in them. My room was left open all day by Maintenance and when I came back at 11:00pm after business meetings the door was still open! Over all very surprised for a Hampton
