The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa

Never got to stay, reservation was canceled by the hotel, and card was still charged. Hotel shut down due to hurricane repairs and was never informed. Was told to contact the third party booking but hotels.com is making that IMPOSSIBLE.

Nice and relaxing. I was unbothered. The only thing I thought was odd was the fact that the bar closed so early.

We were put in a room at first that had hair all over the bathroom floor and then they sprayed something that was so strong a man who was using whatever it was had a mask on. I asked for a new room and they did move us to another but that room had a bucket of something beside the door all weekend and was still there when we left on Monday. We will never go back to this hotel.

Staff from check in to bar was amazing. Property needs serious, serious cleaning and update of rooms. Rooms was not cleaned properly but it would take alot for even housekeeping to do because it looks like somethings are build up from years of horrible upkeep

The photos of this hotel make it look fabulous when it is in fact, not. Our room smelled like smoke, our shower was still dirty and the paint was chipped. We ended up going and buying new shoes and towels to shower in because we didn’t feel comfortable using theirs.

My husband and I stayed here for a little weekend getaway, and the Godfrey Hotel did not disappoint. We arrived Friday around 1pm and was able to check in early. It was a pleasant surprise to find out we were upgraded to one of the suites. The room was very well kept, with the bed being comfortable. We actually had 2 great nights sleep. Our room overlooked Old Tampa Bay. The scenery was beautiful and I was able to capture the sunset. An added bonus, there is a restaurant/bar across that water from the hotel, and we got to enjoy the band they had playing Friday and Saturday night. We will definitely be staying here again. I only want to said dirty and smells like shi***.
Going to report with the health department and the BBB. Because this is the only way to get something fixed here when someone do something or report something and I'm going to email AAA to get my money back.

The hotel is beautiful, but the protest was noisy due to loud karaoke from the hotel next door. It made for a difficult sleep. The rooms were clean but the beds and pillows weren't comfortable and the sheets were rough.

This property needs updating. Looks like it was nice 30 years ago and has only gotten fresh paint. Does not hold up to the Godrey name

The rugs and hallways stink. Some parts of the sheets were dirty.

The Godfrey had zero standards. To break it down, I'll start at the beginning. First, there is zero appeal; the entrance was messy, no landscaping and the most potent smell is marijuana. Second, the staff is not friendly; I didnt receive a smile, eye contact or even enjoy your stay (staff was miserable and spent more time vaping outside instead of manning the customer service desk. The room wasnt bad but the bathroom (especially the shower) is disgusting (bring shower shoes). Also, the balcony wouldve been enjoyable if not for the dripping AC's from above. There was a dead roach in the hallway as well. I will never return!

When we walked in the room it smelled funny and there was a dead moth stuck in one of the picture frames near the door. Room 318. It didn’t have the resort vibe that it claimed on the website. The hotel seemed very old and outdated and one of the comforters in the room was very lumpy. Hair in the bathtub as well. Definitely not worth the price we paid for two nights. I will say that the gentleman working the coffee shop was excellent.

I stayed at the Godfrey because of the location and proximity to the Courtney Campbell trail. The property is a bit older, but it has character which I really liked. The beds are comfortable and the view from my room was over Old Tampa Bay which even this time of year did not disappoint. The staff I had was awesome. I did not eat at the property but heard good things. I love the cabanas when I have been in the past. The Rocky Point area is near Downtown Tampa/Convention Center, the airport, and a short trip will take you to the Pinellas County Beaches. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. The hotel provided free parking during my stay which was weekday. I highly recommend a mid week stay. I did have a few rowdy neighbors, but this hotel attracts a younger clientele, so noise is to be expected.
