My stay was wonderful. Rakub (?sp) was so kind and friendly at the front desk. In my first room (?215) my bed was REALLY firm. I have learned from frequent business travelers you can ask for a mattress topper at hotels so after my first uncomfortable night I called to ask if that was available here. Rakub ( again sorry if I am misspelling) offered to have me change rooms and took me to see two different rooms. I found a more comfortable mattress in 204 and stayed there. It was a bit inconvenient to have to change rooms, but since I had two more nights I did not want a back ache and changed, At the conference another attendee mentioned in her room the bed was slanted and one side was very hard and she rolled to the other side which was more " lived in". I am not a business traveler, but do travel a lot for pleasure and your beds are not great. Typically, the beds feel luxurious and I am sad to say that was not my experience here. If you know there is mattress firmness variability maybe mention that to guests at check in, invest in toppers if requested or overhaul your mattress supplier. The sheets and towels were great. Since I am writing, I was surprised that there were single guest notions. I did not think that was allowed anymore. Not a deal breaker. I take mine home and finish them, but it is a lot of plastic and not great for the environment.
Finally, the restaurant....I live two hours away, but I will be sure to swing back by for the chicken Martini if I am in the area. It was delicious!!!! I also really loved the Tony's sandwich. Speaking of Tony... Tony, you should market yourself to other restaurants to coach them on how to give great hospitality. You are the G.O.A.T. It was the perfect mix of making guests feel seen and wanted, but not invasive. On the second night I had planned to eat at Tony's, but another attendee wanted to leave J House and try something new. We wound up at Terre. My food was average at best and terrible service. For my last night I knew I was staying at Tony's and it did not disappoint. I had 9 other attendees eat with me and they were all raving about there choices. The people who had the sushi said it was some of the best they had ever eaten.
Overall a great experience. You staff is VERY friendly. They made me feel like a valued guest and that will bring me back if I need to stay in the area. 4/5 stars because the mattress issue.

Note: Service review needs emphasis; Luis and his associate at front desk went out of their way to assure my elderly mother had a warm and seamless visit after surgery. Luis immediately cleared my mother for late checkout so she can recover longer from anesthesia after a medical procedure. Luis and his associate's only concern was "Is that enough time, Sir?". Great humans.
Good work is one thing; 'Good Heart and integrity' cannot be taught.
Congrats on your selection of top tier humans and this goes beyond the front desk team. Valet folks were all very understanding and handled my poor demeanor professionally....It felt much better to apologize to the valet staff member a few minutes later when I realized I could have handled things better upon arrival. Working on that, LoL.
Side note: All of the staff didn't act like they were at work. They appeared and felt relaxed, loose and happy to be there. That caught my attention as I had been to several other hotels in the area recently...Good Vibes all around!
Almost forgot to qualify the young lady in the coffee, snack location....I cannot spell her name....Friendly, bright and sharp as a tack....She has a good rapport with the guests obviously; they called her by her first name. Clearly she can quickly identify who she is working with and knows which role to play....a unique trait.
This is an authentic review from a local that cares (and never does reviews). You treated my mother like a queen....and that gets my attention and recognition. I trust this review is brought to the attention of staff on site today. [7/24/26].
Respectfully,
Brian Cronin
Great location and great staff.
Can’t find a thing to complain about
Everything but specifically the toilet! The washing mechanism in the toilet was magnificent!
Nothing really. It was amazing!
The J House is the perfect weekend getaway from Manhattan. Either by a quick drive or a quick ride on Metro North. Between the outdoor pool which has a weekend bar, the wonderful spa and the nice comfortable rooms it is a great weekend escape. The entire hotel staff are always friendly and are willing to try to assist whenever they can. We look forward to returning regularly to escape summers in Manhattan.
I am currently planning my wedding, and working with the catering department at The J House Greenwich has been a complete nightmare. I live in NYC and commuting to Connecticut is very difficult due to my work schedule, something the hotel does not seem to care about.First, they limited my initial venue tour to only 30 minutes. To make matters worse, the night before that appointment, the Catering Director canceled on me, claiming she no longer had availability for that Saturday. We rescheduled for the following Saturday, and when I arrived, she wasn’t even there! The front desk staff ended up being the ones who had to show me the venue.Communication is nonexistent. I sent countless emails without getting a single reply. They only responded—with a terrible attitude—after I escalated the issue and contacted the hotel manager directly. On top of their bad attitude, they are refusing to give me adequate setup time for the decorations, claiming I can only do it two hours before the wedding. The worst part is that the catering is already paid for, and now they are trying to tack on ridiculous extra charges for cake cutting and for adding a few beverages. There is a total lack of professionalism and flexibility for such an important event. I highly discourage anyone from planning their wedding here.
The room is specious. The bathroom is modern and very nice.
The only problem is the noise of running shower or toilet from another room.
Everything was great! Especially staff!
Pool wasnt heated like it was stated
excellent in all departments, from greeting to farewell, it was like staying with a family/friend,
From service to politeness of speaking with a beautiful smial,
A standout option for business travelers in an area where great hotels are hard to find. This property is clean, modern, and loaded with comfortable features, including super-fast Wi-Fi, a responsive TV system, and even a smart toilet. They also provide a convenient, light continental breakfast with fresh mini croissants and bagels.
My only real complaint was the noise from above. Staying on the third floor, I could clearly hear footsteps upstairs, so the insulation isn't the best. The room layout was also a bit quirky (like two chairs weirdly facing a blank wall), but the overall cleanliness and high-tech amenities easily make this one of the top stays in the region.
Quiet oasis convenient to the bustle of the Greenwich area. State of the art comfortable room for down time.
Great location, nice rooms and great bar/restaurant on site.
No Light switch’s in the room, just panels of buttons controlling different things, making it a treasure hunt to figure out how to turn lights on and off.
Customer service gentleman was hands down a breath of fresh air; he was kind, gentle, and very calm for the arrival time (0200-0300 on 05/03/2026- he is the only
One whom deserves an outstanding review). Otherwise, the facility’s aesthetics were on point; albeit the shower, toilet, and main tv were all non functioning). Breakfast for two was not worth $71- pancakes and eggs Benedict .
