Pros:

We had 2 rooms reserved 1 was ready at check in the other we were told would be ready in about an hour we waited the hour still wasnt ready but we were given a bigger room at the same price
Rooms were clean, beds were nice and comfy location was great
Will definitely be back

Beautiful historic hotel

With all the tings we did in McAllen and San Padre we looked forward to going back to our room after a busy day.

Breakfast was the only good service, waiters so kind. And we enjoyed the breakfast.
Pros:

Pool area was dirty, floor all around the pool was dirty with leaves and glass and screws. Even one guest cut her foot exiting the pool area and staff didn’t really seem to make much of an effort to clean up after they were told about a guest cutting her foot.

Cons:

Front desk clerk seemed annoyed (or well more short and not friendly and didn’t give us a proper run down when we first checked in) by our questions about breakfast time, pool hours, and if they needed our car information for parking. Also our pillows were hard not comfortable at all… for the price we paid it just seemed more flashy than comfortable… and there’s no cable… just a smart tv with YouTube and apps you can sign in on or watch the hotels pre selected tv channels. Also check in was at 4. If you like to enjoy the hotel and what it has to offer arrriving at 4 doesn’t give much time just for a day… check out by 11. Also parking seemed hazardous the garage had a 1 way up and down for both cars ways of traffic. So anyone driving up or down you have to be cautious about if there’s a car driving up or down while you are entering and exiting.
