The resort was in the center of everything! My ocean front view was beautiful!
My breakfast came out cold, but they were able to correct it and bring me a fresh breakfast
Rooms were clean had an ocean view, only problem we had ourc1st room AC was not working, but the staff accommodated us quickly..They even called a service man to come to the room and he was at the door within 15 minutes when we were packing up and moving to new room ..
Can't really speak of anything I disliked ..
I like how clean it was and accessible to the strip and beach
Having to wait to get a room when we checked in cause it was so busy
overnight parking was way too expensive.
Very clean hotel, very nice room. Great views of the bay and the ocean. Valet service was top tier! Chris and Mateo were very efficient and had our car waiting for us when we were checking out. They helped load the car with our bags as well! what amazing service!
We loved the location- close to the airport and cruise terminal, right on the beach, within walking distance to playgrounds, restaurants, etc. We loved that 2 chairs were available for us to use on the beach, as well as towels. Welcome drinks from the bar were also a nice surprise!
Breakfast from the restaurant on site took 45 mins for bacon and eggs (not room service- we were seated at the restaurant) and only 3 or 4 orders were ahead of us. We almost had to forfeit our food to catch our uber. I would avoid this place if you can.
What is the fragrance you guys use in the lobby and mezzanine?
Let's use the "Good", "Bad" and "Ugly" system.
There are several "Goods" about this hotel: the location, the gorgeous views from the rooms (we had a corner one), the views from the terrace, and the cleanliness. The rooms and bathrooms have been renovated. However, the bathroom has only one sink, only two towel hooks, and no hanger for a swimsuit. Also, the toiletries are of poor quality (my hair was super dry after using the shampoo and conditioner), and there is no body lotion available. We had plenty of towels, and the shower water pressure was good, too. No bathtub.
We encountered several "Bads". To start with, the lobby is not appealing at all. The lobby is like the "first impression" of a hotel, and there is only one first impression. This was bad. It is modern and minimalist, but sad; it lacks life, colour, and better furniture. The elevators are painted with colours that do not match the lobby. There is a small stand with beverages and snacks close to the very small front desk, which would be better placed somewhere else. The pool is small, with chairs along the side and some on the terrace, but there are very few umbrellas. The hotel offers two chairs on the beach (just across the hotel) but no umbrellas, so if you are like me (taking care of my skin to avoid sun damage), you will have a tough time. This is not a hotel for kids; there is nothing for them.
The "Ugly". We have been Gold members of Marriott in the past (Marriott and Sheraton) and presently too. In this hotel, being a Gold member means nothing. We booked the room with BKF; however, when we got there, we were told that we only had 17$ per day/per room as a "credit" for food. I asked about having two bottles of water in our room, and I was told that there was water in the room. However, when we got to the room, there was no bottled water. I asked the front desk, and they told me that I have to buy the bottled water. The food for BKF was inedible (burned eggs or undercooked, an avocado toast with so little avocado that I had to scrape it off from the mini flatbread). Coffee was so, so. Thank goodness, there were two nice ladies smiling and helping us. We got a present from a friend who sent us a bottle of prosecco and a cheese platter. The prosecco was left on our room's desk, not placed in an ice bucket. The cheese tasted like cardboard, and the fruit was sour (only the pineapple was ok). No nuts, no crackers. At the front desk, they also gave us a ticket for two "welcome drinks" and told us we could have any drink from the bar's terrace menu. The last night, when we went to enjoy our drink, they told us that the welcome drink was a fixed type of cocktail and that they had just prepared a batch. The cocktail was in a big, white plastic bucket with no cover, sitting on the counter. It looked more like a cleaning product to mop the floor. As a Gold member, we asked about a late check-out; however, my husband was told that it was not possible because the hotel was full. Afterwards, he went back, spoke to another person, and he was told that we could leave by 2 pm. We were willing to pay for extra hours as our flight was late, but we were denied that option. But we could still stay longer and enjoy the terrace and the bathrooms inside; however, there are no changing rooms or showers. So, we left at 2 pm. The funny thing was that at the reception, when checking out, the lady told may husbad why we were leaving instead of staying longer. My husband did not take her comments well after he spoke to her in the morning (he explained the situation, tried to stay longer, and offered to pay for the extra hours, but she refused). I never do this, but we had so bad service that I asked for my bill. They forgot to take twice the 17$. This is not a "sophisticated", "upscale hotel" as they have marketed it, and there is no "exceptional dining" either. No coming back.
FEES, FEES, FEES. Want to use your $37 pp resort fee amenities while waiting for your room to use the "included beach chairs" - nope, we can't give you a beach chair until your room is ready. Included beach towels? - nope, you have to wait for your room to be ready, or you can buy a $50 towel in the store. Want an umbrella with your included beach chairs once you get them? - we have a $32 fee for that. That "1 free drink" included in the resort fee - it's for a terrible house rum punch only. The $17 room credit voucher - none of the (ridiculously over-priced) shops/restaurants/bars on property accept the voucher - they just tell you "Ohh, that will be applied to the room charges automatically." - but when you get your bill, the credit won't be there!
Not to mention they only had 1 person working the front desk at check-in time - waited over 40 minutes in line just to check-in. I'm a long-time Marriott loyalist, and I'm disgusted at the way this hotel charges its customers, especially on top of a pre-charged "resort fee".
The hotel property is very nice, new, and extremely well located. The rooms are spacious and have a great view of the beach. The pool and surrounding lounge area is small, but there is a bunch of deck seating nearby at the bar with a great view of the beach. The beach access is easy.
But I will never stay here again. Completely mismanaged.
It was on the beach
I checked in at 3:00 pm and was told I had to pay $30.00 to rent an umbrella for 2 hours; the same amount for an all day rental.additionally, I was told I had a credit of $17.00 at the restaurant which I was declined. And, also told I had 2 free drinks. I explained I do not drink alcohol can I have a Diet Coke instead….. my request was denied! Not everyone drinks booze! I couldn’t believe I couldn’t substitute a Diet Coke for 2 alcoholic drinks!!!!
Lastly, the room A/C was very loud, hard to sleep
Location was amazing. Outside bar staff was great. Room cleaning was great. The beach chairs and towels are a huge plus. Food is good and the room view was AMAZING. Something happened the second to last night and the front desk staff were not pleasant compared to the people I had when I checked in. I was there 5 nights and the second to last night call and be rude that you needed a card on file when I had already given the first night and were not kind when I asked about it.

One bartender inside looked at my friend and I like we were unwelcome and useless spring breakers.
