Location is absolutely perfect. Close to pretty much everything and everyone in Townsville.
Bathrooms could do with a bit of modernisation. But everything else was on point.
Almost everything was above par.
Staff cc were helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was yummy. Shower pressure was awesome.
Stairs.
WTF.
I was not expecting to have to cart all my things up and back down 2 flights of stairs..
Got lost looking for my room as I was distracted when she was giving me directions and it was so damn hot...
thank goodness the air-conditioning was working brilliantly and the pool is lovely.
Small rooms for the cost.
No microwave or toaster.
Only a kettle.
Bugs and spiders throughout the grounds and railings of stairs ..
My Ninja mode initiated way more than I wanted..
😅
Smoking area really needs to be given a little more thought. Some cover from the sun and rain would be a decent start!!
I left my little luggage trolleys under the TV cabinet and have only just remembered now..
Staff in restaurant were courteous and helpful. Young girl with dark hair was very cheerful and a good barista. Enjoyed my evening rib fillet meal and service.
As a senior visitor it was a concern that there is no phone connection to Reception in case of emergency or ill health.
The staff and food at the restaurant was amazing the complex and rooms were so clean and lovely.
Only problem was the mozzies that were attracted to the outside light beside the units front door along the row of units where we were staying made it impossible to get into the unit without a cloud of mozzies. Might need an external mozzie zapper for the units closest to the river. Apart from that can’t fault the accom.
Location and pool surrounds
No real big deal but there was a wedding held outside our room with the reception upstairs and 2 football clubs staying as it was a big weekend for football, but that’s our problem as we picked a busy weekend, all the same noise had stopped by 10 and the staff were really good
Bungalow was clean and new, location is in a good spot close to everythinf
Location and staff were pleasant
No teaspoon in room to stir coffee, no tissues provided in bathroom, no small packet of biscuits with tea and coffee, and our bathroom door was broken and when we asked at reception nothing was done during our 4 day stay. Bathroom tiles very dirty and room was just average. Our son’s room had old blood on the mattress protector. Not acceptable. All in all for nearly $300 per night the Mercure was very disappointing.
The location is great.
I have stayed previously at this hotel and it was nice, but this time for the same room and a little more money no breakfast was included which at the time of booking it stated breakfast included. The rooms were not cleaned, they were tidyed sheets were dirty and we had cobwebs on the walls and dust all on the ceiling fans. TV kept cutting out and the walls were paper thin so very noisy. Lots of work happening and was dangerous. Dirty plates on trays left at stairways for the 2 days we were there. Very dissapointing as our stay was not cheap.
Gardens food room place by water
Always like it
Clean, comfy, restaurant, fox tv
Car parking a long way from room and not secure. Property is quite old and dated now however rooms prices don’t reflect that.
