Musty smell
Pros:

The moment you walk in, there’s a strong musty smell. It seems like the carpets may have been recently cleaned but not properly dried. I woke up with a sore throat and congestion, which makes me concerned about the air quality and possible mold issues. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again

EXCEPTIONAL HOTEL!!!
Pros:

This hotel, and their staff, especially their management and Food service staff, excels beyond five stars. I would literally give them 11 stars! They are the friendliest people I’ve ever encountered, and we travel all over the United States and some international. This was our first time staying at this hotel in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We have been to Tuscaloosa now five times since August and I have to say I will certainly stay at this hotel again. We normally stay at the Embassy suites, however, the food here is above other hotels we’ve stayed at; Gwen & Robin go above and beyond!! They met our every need. And Gwen and the breakfast is probably the best I’ve ever had at any Hampton Inn in the past 20 years. They provide catered dinner on game day nights and it was exceptional. Also the day we were leaving Carolyn and Sonya we’re beyond friendly, competent and efficient. They wanted to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. Carolyn and Sonya talked with us a long time and were extremely friendly. We will definitely be back!

Only thing we didn't like was the eco faucet in the sink. First time we turned it on we had water everywhere.

Clean, convenient, quiet hotel
Pros:

This is a clean, convenient, safe hotel. It has a Baumhower's Restaurant on one side & a new putt-putt golf course on the other. It is close to campus and has quick access to Hwy 82. Breakfast was mediocre (chicken sausage??). Front desk personnel were great - two young men who were funny and efficient. Despite the computer system being down, they handled check-ins smoothly and quickly. Always greeted me when I passed the desk. Price was reasonable.
