Magnificent and with a great restaurant

Soweit alles super für Familien mit Kindern wäre ein Spielplatz toll, sehr nette Gastgeber und sehr nettes Personal sehr gute Küche jeder Zeit wieder!

Tolle Unterkunft. Sehr ruhig und das Personal sehr angenehm und zuvorkommend. Immer wieder gerne.

Es war ausnahmslos sauber. Modern aber in traditionellem Stil eingerichtet, sehr schön gemacht. Herrliche Speisenauswahl am Abend. Super netter Kellner. Frühstück war auch alles da und schön gemacht. Ich würde hier wieder buchen. Viel besser als in vielen 4 Sterne Unterkünften in denen wir bisher waren. Einfach Schön und Gemütlich dort.

We stayed two nights at the Gruner Baum. Our experience was really nice. Starting from the outside, with lovely landscapes and views, it can be already see that is a great place to lay down and relax. When you enter the Gasthof, you can feel the Black Forest ambience, with nice details and decoration. The room was spacious and with a nice view. Also, we recommend the restaurant, which has a lot of typical Black Forest details.
We want to point out the quality and quantity of the breakfast. It was actually a nice surprise as you have a wide variety of options to choose from. Finally, we want to thank all the team of the Gasthof as they really made us feel like at home

We had a great time and delicious food until it was time to pay the bill. That's when things took a sudden turn for the worse. On my asking to pay by credit card the otherwise bubbly and friendly server turned stone cold and told me rudely 'Geht nicht", that meant 'doesn't work" and was a straight-up lie. Fact is, of course all major credit cards work with their payment system, it's the owners that don't want guests to pay by CC because of the dealers' fees (which obviously shouldn't be the guests' problem). We were then forced to pay by maestro and left the restaurant a bit disappointed. Fortunately, there are other similarly delicious restaurants in the area that will gladly accept all major credit cards. So if you decide to go there, don't forget to bring cash or maestro to not get into trouble with the server...

Sehr gemütliches, familiäres Hotel. Hervorragendes Frühstück und sehr freundliches Personal.

We stayed in the hotel with our two dogs, for our little holiday in April this year. The rooms are decorated in a lovely alpine style, very clean and our room lead to a little terrace with a stream and beautiful views.
We ate in the hotels restaurant for two nights and the food was very good.
The owners Mr and Mrs Dietz made us and the dogs feel very welcome and have us great tips for hiking and cycling in the beautiful area.
We absolutely loved our stay, finishing each day of cycling and hiking with a hot sauna and lovely evening meal.
On leaving I had left something behind in the hotel, and once again Mr and Mrs Dietz went above and beyond to help me to ship the items back to the UK.
I can't recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely return one day as the area has so much to offer at each time of the year.

The ski slopes of Feldberg at ~7km from hotel, during high-season can take >1hr to get there but worthwhile staying in Hohengasthof

We stayed here for one night at the start of a Romantic Road trip. If you need parking you need to stop, go into reception and get them to guide you. It is across the street down a lane about 100m and in an underground car park with secure access. Fine once you understand all that and have a key.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Our room (12) was tiny but OK for one night. The location is excellent and the centre of Wurzburg is just a very short walk away.

Breakfast was in the basement vault. Functional, but nothing more.

Every year a pleasant stay at this friendly family hotel. We go for the wintersport and stay a couple of days in this hotel. The owners show great hospitality and are always friendly. Going there for the snow and ski, do the half pension and choose from the delicious offerings they serve. After a good day of skiing the meal is always tasty and the beer comes in big glasses !

The hotel is super quiet in the mountains. A perfect place to relax at 10 min from Titisee and Feldberg. The family room is what a family of four needs in such a place. Kids enjoyed the playground in the nature. The restaurant offers many kinds of good german food for anyone. Breakfast is amazing. The hotel also offers a "discount card", which give savings in most of the nearby attractions. The only weakness is the wifi, which is not stable enough in the basement (but 4G works). Credit card is not accepted either (or with an extra tax).

Close to all the attractions, an excellent starting point for a trip to the Black Forest, fitted kitchen, laundry services are priced cheap, polite staff, supermarket nearby, highly recommended-we are family 2+3, stay in the appratment for two weeks

After a long day of hiking in the beautiful woods, we stopped here for some DELICIOUS freshly made spargel suppe (asparagus soup), coffee and Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte. Wonderful, relaxing restaurant with good service.

Great Place, location is close to all main attractions including titise & Feldberg, down the montain can find a big LIDEL, gas station.
Very Surreal and quiet, can hear the cow bells when waking up every morning.

We stayed in hotel few miles away and owners recommended this restaurant to us, it was so lovely we came back the next night. Menu little confusing to our very limited German is English menu was very useful. Husband had ribs on both nights, there were absolutely loads of them! I had a pasta dish one night which was unusual but very tasty, there is also a free help yourself salad bar which was all very good, the beer is as always delicious and our waiter very helpful and friendly. Would recommend anyone to eat here, hotel seemed pleasant and had lovely views.

We spent 4 nights in this hotel. It is located in Neuglashütten, 10 minutes by car from Feldberg. Our room was large and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant twice, once fish, once meat; both times the meals were very good (it is a popular place, so be sure to make reservations). Breakfast consists of a buffet with various types of roles and bread, cheeses, muesli, yoghurt, fruit, egg, etc. The owners and the rest of their staff are very friendly people.
A round trip from the hotel to the Feldberg and Feldsee via the ZweiSeenBlick is approximately 22 kilometers and a must do!

Gruner Baum actually is situated a bit remote in the village of Neuglasshutten. You'll be there from the top of Feldberg within 10 minutes bij car or bus. Gruner Baum offers menu-service for their guests and a menu-card for others. Definitely go for the meat, because it's very good! Also the German spare-ribs offer a lot of meat. Soups are made fresh and wine-choice is sufficient and cheap. Even the coffee tasted nice. Rates are very moderate, so it's worthwhile to make the trip. If you'll want to be sure of a table during holiday-weeks, make a reservation!
