Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The facilities are nice except the gym is quite warm if you go before 6:00 a.m. There is also no bathroom for the gym until the pool opens at 7:30. The breakfast is extensive but the breakfast area can become slightly chaotic. Diego was a lovely server. The majority of staff are friendly except the concierge on the ground floor who never once greeted us or even made eye contact. Our room was comfortable with the only suggestion being to have newer towels…they seem a bit dingy/brown. What really made a positive impact on our stay was the employee by the name Ramiro. He greeted us with a genuine smile and always offered to assist us. Ramiro is a true asset to this property, as a positive interaction can make the stay worthwhile! We would stay here again and recommend it to others.
This was our second time booking with Sofitel via the AmEx Fine hotel and resorts program. We arrived shortly after noon and there was no problem getting the included early check in. Carlos greeted us in the underground entry area and took our bags right away, sending us to the check in counter on the 14th floor. We certainly appreciated the excellent service we received from the moment we stepped onto the property from him.
We were efficiently helped at the front desk by Rodrego who was very friendly and took several moments to look for a way to upgrade our room category and took some time to chat with us and explain the benefits included with our program including the buffet breakfast (which was very good).
We also got $125 USD credit but I did note on our room folio after check out, only $114 was applied on my aprox $140 hotel spend, and I am not sure why that was. Perhaps how an exchange rate was applied?
Regardless, it is all an excellent value when you add the benefits all up, and in combination with the exceptional service at Sofitel, this has become our favorite hotel in a city that is full of excellent and interesting hotels.
We did get our welcome ammenity, but late that evening.
We tried the new L'Octain lounge, which had some very interesting and delicious cocktails and beer. Stylish and comfortable, with great service as well.

Cityzen bar was a delight! Yummy cocktails and breath taking views. You can see the entire city and great photo opportunities. Juan served us and he was incredible! Excellent drink recommendations . Thank you Juan for a special experience!

We enjoyed our stay at Sofitel. The French Mexican hospitality created an interesting mix of different cultural experiences.
We enjoyed breakfast especially. Our servers Diana and Ruben were attentive yet not pushy as waiters and made our time comfortable.
Great stay, much light in the room, confortable, the swimming pool is small but a comfy place. Breakfast buffet is amazing.
And everywhere the staff is lovely and helpful.
