Wonderful, book it!
Pros:

We had the spa suite and it was wonderful. The outside bath, inside spa, stone sauna room were a nice way to unwind after the usual 20,000 steps a day in Japan!

Cons:

The room was beautiful, it was very private and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and spa room incredible.

Modern take on traditional comforts.
Pros:

Excellent location in Gion, a stone’s throw from main sites like Kiyomizudera, Ninenzaka, and Kodaiji Temple. The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. The breakfast pastries and coffee/matcha in the morning are a lovely touch.

Relaxing and Wonderful Stay!
Pros:

This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The room was beautiful and every attention to detail was made. Hotel staff are excellent and very attentive. We felt absolutely pampered and we were so happy with our experience, we extended our stay in Kyoto. I highly recommend the Hotel Gion Ichirin!

Top locatie en super fijn hotel
Pros:

Geweldige locatie, vrijwel alles op loopafstand, waardoor we ‘s avonds nog door Gion konden wandelen. Daarnaast kreeg je gratis drankjes op je kamer, en ook gratis drankjes in de lounge boven. Ook waren er 2 wasmachines boven, dat was erg handig. Er is geen ontbijt beschikbaar, maar direct naast het hotel zit een klein Japans zaakje waar ze geweldige french toast serveren.

Cons:

Wij vonden het net iets te warm op de kamer, maar dat is misschien een persoonlijke voorkeur.

Muy buena ubicación, el personal muy amable muy servicial, atento y de buen trato. La habitación de muy buen tamaño, muy cómoda y con buenas amenidades.

Cons:

Que hubiera servicio de limpieza de la habitación, aunque sean pocas noches. Al pagar esa tarifa de hotel esperas que tenga limpieza del cuarto todos los días

Amazing amenities, amazing location. The best we could have asked for in Kyoto.
Pros:

The hotel’s ambiance was amazing. Felt like a mix between the traditional and modern. We rented time at the spa and it was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and doubly so when we used their service to transfer our bags to our next hotel in Osaka.

The location and staff were lovely. The facilities were also great as was the complimentary drinks and snacks in the lounge.

Our room had the beds raised on a platform which was difficult to step up and down from in the night.
