Es gab ein kleines Missverständniss, aber hatten sich sofort darum bemüht, es in Ordnung zu bringen. Keine zusätzlichen Kosten angefallen.

Coole Lounge (beim Kino) um die Ecke mit freundlicher Bedienung und feinen Snacks. Habe sogar eine private Führung durch dad Kino bekommen :)

bed was super comfy, bathroom was good with good hotwater flow, garden area of the hotel and a proper heated pool. Gym is fairly equipped with basic equipment
breakfast although ok would be repetitive if one stays more than a few days, hotel housekeeping comes around 9am in morning to clean up room when ones getting ready to go out, would be better around 11am. mini bar was not stocked and some amenties like tooth brush and shaving has to be requested from reception or housekeeping and not kept in room. Channels on TV other than 2 is basically is in chineese and that also news channels.
This hotel was one of the best hotels I've stayed in. It is a famous landmark in Shanghai for years and lives up to its reputation. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed for a while so our cleaning staff and porters all knew us well, made us feel like we were returning home every day. Our room was more than spacious, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The location is excellent, convenient to subway, shopping, historical sites. We liked our room and stay so much, we missed it the second we left. We truly enjoyed our stay in one of most highly respected, storied, and recognized hotels in Shanghai.

Staff very attentive from moment I arrived. I went to wrong entrance but instead of walking to Cathay Garden entrance which was short walk on opposite side of square their chauffeur took me in a vintage open topped car- my case was handed over to a porter at the entrance where a porter carried my case inside then after a smooth check in carried my case to my room on the 5th floor. I was made to feel special. Hotel has elegant charm of a past era and an interesting history . Loved the reading area with pictures on the wall of important statesmen including Regan and Margaret Thatcher who visited the hotel back in the 70’s/80’s. My room was spacious big king size bed and so comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious all in marble. I loved the bidet toilet which was a big plus. Excellent shower . Good view of city skyline but when you looked down the view was disappointing as was back of hotel(minor issue). Room service was prompt with varied food choices plus alcoholic options and hot and cold drinks. Good breakfast in large dining areas- plenty of choice including continental options pastries cheeses cold meats’, fresh fruit fried and boiled eggs a selection of breads and large variety of Chinese options. Selection of coffee tea and fresh juices. It was easy short walk to local shops and subway . Very impressed all round
