Overall a really wonderful stay.
Pros:

The room is awesome and the friendliness of the staff also. The location, being in the theatre district, was great. I will definitely be back!

Cons:

Honestly, it's not a deal breaker because everything else is great, however, breakfast could do with some improvements. The breakfast staff were mediocre in friendliness and there are a few things which need to be changed. The hot water for the tea was not boiling, even when I asked them to reheat it. I think the water and coffee needs to be plugged in on the buffet, with the option to reboil the water in the machine when you are ready to have it, especially the hot water. It would actually be nice if we could get pots of tea for the table at breakfast. For the price we are paying for the room and breakfast, I think every guest should have coffee and tea brought fresh and hot to their table. The pink grapefruit was lovely and you should have that every day. The smoked salmon was lovely. The fruit bowls should be separated into large individual bowls of raspberries, another for pineapple, another for strawberries, another for melon, another for blueberries, etc. It would be nice to have gluten free bread as an option. Have a look at what Crowne Plaza North Augusta is doing for breakfasts that are included in room price. If you got to where they are, you would be PERFECT.

A gem in Houston
Pros:

I am a local and I love staying at The Lancaster when I am working on a creative project or need a little getaway. It is such a beautiful, historic hotel with such wonderful energy from all the authors, musicians, playwrights, and creatives who have stayed there over the years. Anytime I am here, I truly feel like I am family! The food is wonderful, the rooms are comfortable and luxurious (and I’ve stayed in several, all meet the mark!), and the best part is the staff. They are so welcoming and friendly. This is the place to stay in Houston!
