If you would like to experience living in your own Upper East Side luxury apartment with friendly doormen who remember you, staff who meet your requests with smiles and speedy resolution and gorgeous, charming rooms, this is your hotel. Excellent food, charming bars and a fantastic location are the silk bow on a beautiful jewel box of a hotel.
We had an excellent stay and we will definitely stay again. A beautiful hotel, very well located, the service was wonderful.
This was our third time to stay at this hotel and we love it more and more each time. The staff is so friendly, the hotel is beautiful and comfortable. Even when it's busy, it never feels stressful. It's a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The Lowell is lovely but not in winter. The whole hotel was underheated and many complained. Their resturant Majorelle is to be strictly avoided. The food is good but not outstanding and exorbitantly priced. $900 for two including four glasses of ordinary wine and tip. I saw a woman hand the maitre d' some money (in an obvious way) and was shown to an excellent table in the center of the restaurant. We did not bribe the maitre d' and were given a bad table in a corner. I asked for a similar table the woman was given and was told "no." Literally. The hotel's small bar "Jacques" is delightful and recommended. You can order food there. At $1400 per night you're better off not staying at the Lowell.
Everything about The Lowell hotel is consistently flawless.
We have been staying at The Lowell for years and look forward
to many future visits.
Great hotel on the Upper East Side. An oasis of calm and elegance. Spot on service and convenient to all East side museums and shopping. Our room had just been refurbished and was lovely.
a first class experience, from start to finish Truly top notch accommodations, service and hospitality. King size bedroom much larger than expected, tv in the bathroom is an unexpected pleasure.
Smaller rooms but very clean with nice amenities rooms but excellent service.
Old world luxury feel. They still have woodburning fireplaces in 2025 !!
Polite and helpful staff
My Wife and I enjoy spending our anniversaries at the Lowell. We enjoy it so much that I booked the hotel for my son and his future wife to spend the 2 nights after their wedding here next February. It is one of the most romantic hotels in NYC with impeccable service!
The Lowell is the perfect elegant home away from home. Only draw back is the single sink. The bed is extremely comfortable. For the value it a perfect luxurious holiday treat ! The lobby and den are beautiful appointment with holiday decorations. Very festive! Feels like first class old school in top condition.
The Lowell is a lovely, small hotel with all the luxuries one would want. The gym is well equipped. The rooms are very comfortable and charming. We loved the scented soaps, shampoo and body lotion. Huge fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable. We liked having a fireplace in the room although we never used it. (Next time!). But it was the staff that really made it a special place. Everyone from the doormen, the front desk staff , the breakfast room waiters to the housekeeping staff were attentive, kind, warm and friendly. We especially enjoyed the bar and the lounge- beautiful spaces for relaxing. It really was a home away from home.
We began staying here for the perfect location, came back because of how incredibly well they welcomed our dogs. Now we go back because it feels like home, but without the cooking and cleaning.
The location is outstanding, the staff is very professional, courteous and efficient. Majorelle is outstanding and it is very convenient to have it next door.
We stayed at the Lowell at the beginning of a Paris trip and then upon our return. From start to finish, every aspect of the stay was outstanding. They truly make you feel that you are family (that they are happy to see!). Patricia, Director Guest Relations went beyond the call of duty to make our stays memorable as we celebrated my wife's birthday.
Amazing luxury visit that delivered an experience that exceeded our expectations in many ways. It was our first of what I hope will be many future stays.
Beautiful and intimate hotel. Wonderful ambiance. Great Location. Well appointed and VERY helpful employees. Bathroom amenities so fragrant with towels plush and plentiful.
Beautiful boutique hotel
Excellent location.
Nicely furnished rooms.
Courteous and helpful staff.
Great breakfast.
Will definitely stay again
This was my 3rd visit to the Lowell, and it is an exceptional experience each time. The staff are prompt, warm and welcoming. And the fresh flowers are a beautiful touch.
Everything is very good, just not quite great. The valet was on his phone and missed me at the front door. The room was not quite ready on time. The cleaning service wasn’t quite thorough. The rooms are feeling just a touch dated. It is still - without doubt - an excellent hotel in an excellent location with a boutique feel. It’s just not quite as on top of the details relative to its reputation and price point.
There is no better place to stay in NYC than the Lowell! Quiet, understated elegance with exceptional service and an extraordinary location near shopping, Central Park, and fabulous restaurants!
