Enjoyed our stay and would book again.
Pros:

Loved Loved Loved The location! Would stay here again based on this fact alone. The bed was comfortable, linen fresh and clean, bathroom was clean.

Cons:

Room was smaller than I thought based on photos. Slow lifts which meant a lot of waiting around for it to arrive.

Nice hotel and well located. Needs lots of maintenance done.
Pros:

Historic features and character. Centrally located.
Comfortable bed and rooms nicely appointed, but a bit tired.

Cons:

Lots of small maintenance issues. Lifts broken, bathroom door coming off rails, mould in bathroom, light switches disconnected or not working.

Cons:

Lift is always broken whenever we are there. This time 2 lifts broken.
Asked for a beer instead of the 2 free cocktails and the bar staff made such a big deal of it. Really didn’t need to, surely a peroni mid costs less for you then a full cocktail.
Reception staff always seem to have bad English ever time I stay
You have shut if a main thorough fair in the front lounge area because some American fell over. It seems bizzare that it’s closed off. Just open it !

As a respite stay for carers, it was peacefuly and relaxing, yet right in the heart of the city.
Pros:

The service was absolutely fabulous. So polite and prompt and any little issue is immediately attended to. The hotel is a beautiful Victorian era building, but the amenities are all modern. Ava's bar is so very cosy and inviting, we couldn't resist the sumptius cocktails.
