Enjoyable stay. We will stay again if the price is affordable.

Location, bar/restaurant, hall good with characterful history. Service good. Room pleasant and clean.

Cons:

We like the room but if bedroom was larger with a view, or room price was less, that would have been good of course!

The hotel is quintessential old worlde

Cons:

Looking for a night cap after our evening out but the bar was closed. 8 other people arrived at the same time looking for the same service, it would have been nice to have a drink in the nice foyer area.
Room service utensils from other rooms were in the corridor the whole time we were there, not a good look or feel.
The receptionist who checked us in was very disinterested in us and rushed through her process with us and I had to ask her twice what she was saying.

Pros:

Wonderfully located on Flinders Street, with lots of public transport nearby. The buffet breakfast was amazing, with check out a breeze.

Rooms need a deep clean

The room needs extra attention to cleaning.
The shower was not clean and carpets all the way through need vacume better.
They need to get to all the corners properly.
As a cleaning business for 25 years, l would not permit this to be a pass from my staff.
