Friendly hotel, close fo everything
Pros:

Hotel was right next to the railway station. Unfortunately in the middle of a heat wave, they did everything they could to accomodate customers and cool rooms. Staff were amazing.

Cons:

Noise, not the hotels fault,t. If I was able to close windows would not have had outside moise

Convenient hotel for sightseeing, museums, shopping etc.
Pros:

Located next to train staion and within easy walking distance of town and bus station. Pubs & restaurants in close proximity for evening meals or alternate breakfasts

Cons:

Noise from nearby pubs etc at weekend.

Very enjoyable. Room was a good size and the breakfast was very goon. We were out during the day vis
Pros:

Only fault we had was that lift was waiting repair and I found it a awkward using the stairs, but it was out of your hands as you were waiting for the repair man to come and fix it. This is not a complaint just to tell you that was the only fault we had. We look forward to seeing you in the future. Thank you.

Perfect location -staff were lovely but some issues Fawlty Towers moments -
Pros:

Location and staff were extremely helpful and friendly

Cons:

Lift OOS for 2 weeks but were able to ask reception to assist us using override key
Lots of damp on walls on top floor
Sadly room hadn’t been checked by chambermaid - lots of issues including•••••
Missing batteries from remote / no small towels in room ( the lovely Duty manager ?Donna came up to top floor numerous times to help us ) someone had take the entire box of tissues and left satsumas in the drawer where hairdryer should be lol! Looked like they’d been there a while !
Small things - but one after another laughed initially but got a bit “where’s Jeremy Beadle” after a while - very old fashioned bathrooms ( beige suite!) and the sink taps were loose and spun round when you tried to turn the cold one on lol
The duty managers helped us with every issue and even went as far as giving us free drink vouchers

The damp is an issue on upper floor - lots of black mould and blown plaster / damp walls but this is an old building so likely not much can be done immediately but definitely having an negative impact on the
area
Literally right next to station perfect
No air con but small fan provided
Bar was extremely hot though needed a big fan in there
Breakfast- nice poached eggs
Really cheap sausages and the breakfast mixed fruit bowl wasn’t great at all
Someone put a croissant in toast machine and it set alight !
Was like Fawlty Towers
BUT I will reiterate the staff were simply amazing

Pleasant stay. Cannot comment on food None is provided at night time and we did not have breakfast.
Pros:

Excellent location being right by the train station and city centre.
Both room and bathroom were of a good standard.
Cleanliness was good

Cons:

If staying on a Saturday night check where your room is located as the hotel is very near Botchergate. Therefore music (very loud music) is playing until 03.00hrs.

Pros:

The (rotten) windows were painted shut, room was stuffy. A member of staff managed to open one a little bit. The room was towards the back and was very loud

Cons:

Noise, stuffiness of the room. The whole of the hotel has seen better times. I didn't think it was value for money.
However, the staff were friendly enough

Perfect location for anyone catching or arriving by train. 12 minute walk to Castle. 15 minute walk to park.
Pros:

Absolute closeness to train station - 2 minute walk if that.

Cons:

The lift wasn’t working but we did know this.
