Pros:

Bathroom was filthy all over the toilet not been clearaned properly and up from the floor brown stains. Moldy shower cubicle

Pros:

Location was fab, staff were extremely polite and friendly, explained everything fully. Easy check in and out.
Room was a good size, bed was comfy.
Excellent choice of breakfast foods.

Cons:

Unfortunately window didn't out properly and was made slightly open by a piece of broken window frame but there was a fan which helped!
Carpets could have used another hoover in room and in stairwell.
Left broken but good for us we were on first floor.

Pretty much as expected for the price.
Pros:

Location was good, bed was comfortable.

Cons:

Lift wasn't working. Bath had damage to it. Breakfast was industrial and not cooked fresh. Not enough main plug sockets in room. Parking was limited and hit and miss. Not enough hangers for towels in the bathroom.

Pros:

The lift wasn't working but the staff was able to take us up in it and when we wanted back down we had to phone reception and they came up straight away to get us

Fabulously central
Pros:

Central for all places like castle and cathedral also great choice of places to eat and drink, right beside train station absolutely perfect, breakfast was delicious and staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble, special mention to Steve the barman very friendly and professional

Cons:

Room was extremely hot even though was warm days there was no air conditioning but was a fan although was an old victorian building so was really hard I guess for a/c room could do with a makeover lick of paint and carpet sorted but apert from that whole experience was great

Echt midden in Carlisle
Pros:

De ligging van het hotel is goed. Je bent direct in het centrum van Carlisle. De kamer was groot en de bedden goed en schoon. Niets mis mee.

Cons:

Het hotel was gedateerd en had echt onderhoud nodig. Lift kapot, kozijnen verrot, ramen die nauwelijks open kunnen. Jammer want op zich mooi hotel op mooie plek. Iets meer uitleg over parkeren had ook gemogen. Hebben nu 24 euro voor 1 nacht betaald op de parkeerplaats van het station.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very disappointing.

Although I had completed the online check in before arriving, I still had to wait to receive my room. After the wait, I was surprised to find the room in an unacceptable condition. It was clearly not properly prepared for a new guest. The bed linen, blanket, and pillows were left on the floor, the room was untidy, and both the shampoo and shower gel dispensers were completely empty until I asked for them to be refilled. Even after they were refilled, the body lotion dispenser was not working.

The WiFi was also very poor and barely reached the room, making it unreliable throughout my stay.

This was especially disappointing considering the price I paid and the fact that I chose this hotel because it was the closest to my graduation venue. My visit to Carlisle was for a very special occasion, my university graduation, and unfortunately the hotel experience took away from what should have been a memorable trip.

I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall service. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel.

Prima hotel met centrale ligging en goed ontbijt.
Pros:

Goed gemoderniseerd hotel in historisch gebouw in historisch centrum vlakbij station en ontbijt goede prijs-kwaliteit (10,- pond en zelfs ter plekke nog te bestellen en betalen).
Prachtige kerk-klooster, citadel en museum met Romeinse resten in historische centrum op loopafstand. Aardig personeel. Bagage kun je bij balie afgeven nadat je bent uitgecheckt maar stad nog wilt bezoeken. Stad leuk centrum met diverse restaurants/horeca. Voorzijde-kamers uitzicht op stadstorens en historisch station.

Cons:

Auto moest je wat verderop betaald parkeren maar tarief was niet hoog (mei 2026). Afzetten bagage kan wel voor de ingang.
