Fairfield Inn Myrtle Beach Broadway at the Beach

Requested for clarification b4 traveling but did not get response on my request yet

Our stay at Fairfield by Marriott at Broadway at the Beach was incredibly disappointing, both in terms of the room conditions and the way management handled our concerns.

The room felt damp, had a noticeable musty odor, and there were several spots on the wall that appeared to be mold. These conditions alone were concerning, particularly while traveling with two young children.

To make matters worse, a persistent, repetitive beeping noise continued throughout the night, disrupting our entire family’s sleep. I called the front desk three separate times, but was told maintenance had left and the only employee on duty could not come upstairs to investigate. I even recorded the noise on my phone.

At checkout the following morning, a different employee apologized and assured me that management would contact me. That call never came.

After numerous unanswered attempts to resolve the issue through phone calls and emails, I finally received a call a couple of weeks later from an employee who stated that her manager had approved a refund. However, that refund has never been received.

What frustrates me most is the complete lack of accountability. Maintenance problems happen, but damp, musty rooms, possible mold, an entire night of disrupted sleep, and repeated promises that are never fulfilled are unacceptable.

I expected considerably better from a Marriott property. Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable family stay turned into an exhausting experience followed by weeks of frustration trying to get someone to follow through.

The room conditions were disappointing, but management’s failure to address our concerns or honor the promised refund was even worse. I would not recommend this property, particularly to families traveling with children.

A/c throughout the hotel was having issues. Multiple floors were hot and humid, they had portable AC units in the hallways.

AC had a bad smell and there was a dehumidifier in the room that needed to be emptied twice a day. The humidity was so high in the room clothes felt damp

The inability to relocate to another room after mentioning the room smelled like urine. Housekeeping never came to the room after speaking with at the end of the hallway. I had to walk all the way downstairs just to come back up and be told there wasn’t anything they could do but spray air freshener in the room.

No safe in the room

The bathroom is on the small size and the shower door needs a seal to stop water from running out.

Not that clean and stairs area smell like mold or mildew

Beds were uncomfortable and sweaty. The pool was disgusting
