To all guests visiting between February 03 and May 01, 2023; The Hotel Roanoke will be removing 1 of our 3 Lobby elevators from service to perform a beautiful renovation. All guestrooms can be accessed by utilizing the two remaining elevators, except for the Governor’s Suite, which will require exiting on the 6th floor and taking the staircase to the 7th floor. 3-day stay resulted in over $100 in (self, not valet) parking fees. Beds will break your back.
Pros:

Rich in history- beautiful decor

Cons:

I paid over $100 for a three-night stay (with ZERO valet service, this is self-parking). Front desk staff intentionally inflated parking charges-I believe they are operating a fraud situation w the parking.
Problems with the reservation. No property map to find the pool or coffee shop. Beds were extremely uncomfortable.
2nd Room wasn’t ready at 4pm check-in- front desk clerk kindly said she would flip the room herself and it would only take a few minutes. Sheets probably not changed.
Got a Jr suite for added privacy and turns out the separate room has the couch and tv- terrible design.
I was planning a stay with family (3 rooms and dinner for 7 people) for Thanksgiving. After this stay I arranged it at another nice location instead.

Great facility, high drink prices, enjoyed our stay.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable. Used hot tub to relax at pool.

Cons:

The hallways and general inside temperature was way too cold. Not necessary, in my opinion to refrigerate the hotel …save some on your energy bill and turn up temps about 5 degrees to save on AC. The wine prices are quite high … often 3-4 times what you buy it for in retail, so when you buy as a reseller, the wine is likely 4-6 times what you paid. How about 2-2.5 times mark up and giving your guests a break. We deserve some quality wines (not cheap stuff) at a reasonable price/value. You’ll sell more wine and make a good profit because of it.

Everything was amazing, but especially the staff.

Cons:

I was only slightly uncomfortable with being dressed for vacation (lazy) with business meeting people all around. But it IS a convention center, so I understand

NICE HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN AREA CLOSE TO EVERYTHING
Pros:

NICE ROOM VERY VERY SMALL BATHROOM, HAD BREAKFAST IN MAIN DINING ROOM WAS GOOD
ALL THE AREAS IN HOTEL WERE VERY COLD I HAD TO WEAR EXTRA COVER UP SO DID SOME OTHERS , OTHERWISE WAS FINE
