⚠️ Strong Warning for Travelers – Courtyard Marriott Lafayette South (Lafayette, LA)
⚠️I’m sharing this as a serious heads-up to anyone planning to stay at the Courtyard Marriott Lafayette South in Lafayette, Louisiana.
During my stay, housekeeping staff was caught stealing from my room. I filed an official police report with the Lafayette Police Department, but instead of addressing the issue, the General Manager, Patrick O. Connor, treated me in a discriminatory manner and then began running fraudulent charges on my AMEX card.
To make matters worse, the room was disgustingly dirty — urine and feces left on the toilet, and hair and dirt throughout the shower. This was absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one under the Marriott name.
I strongly urge everyone — both current and future guests — to avoid booking at this Courtyard Marriott Lafayette South location. Protect yourself, your finances, and your peace of mind.
If you’ve had a similar experience, I encourage you to report it and share your story publicly, so others are warned.

It’s very nice and convenient location.
I stayed in 3 rooms during my week long visit and each room had its issues - primarily the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Absolutely grungy. The shower floors were so dirty and stained and the corners and crevices were so moldy and unsightly that I opted to take bird baths instead. I would not recommend if you are as particular about these things as I am!
A really lovely stay! It's in a great location with lots of parking. Very friendly check-in with free bottled water which was a nice touch. Didn't use the pool, breakfast or fitness suite but everywhere looked freshly renovated. Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms with decent TV package. It's not a "luxury" hotel but would definitely stay here if I was ever this way again.
My family chose your hotel as the best option for an overnight stop from Florida to Texas, but our experience was very disappointing.
Lobby extremely loud at 10pm with screaming children in bar area. Multiple wet floor signs left out with no cleanup. Given keys to occupied room with guest's belongings visible - serious privacy concern. Replacement room reeked of overpowering cologne. Dirty elevators.
As tired travelers expecting Marriott quality, we instead found poor maintenance, security failures, and unprofessional conditions. These multiple service issues significantly impacted our stay and don't reflect the standards we expect from your brand.
Please address these operational problems to prevent future guests from having similar experiences.
The location is great. Right by Top Golf/Dave & Busters, lots of shopping-Marshalls, Home Goods, lululemon, Old Navy, Nordstrom Rack, etc. Extensive dining choices. Facility itself is nice with good pool, patio area, nice parking, etc. It unfortunately is not kept up-most notably, the trashcans all all overflowing-inside the front door, by the elevator, in the bar/breakfast area. There are no recycling containers that we could see. There were no towels available @ the pool. We asked for extra towels in our room after our second night, but were never provided any. Some simple improvements would go a long way!
Pool has some lights out around it, which made it very dark and somewhat dangerous for kids. It took forever to get my breakfast meal after ordered. I had to ask twice and then was told I wasn’t charged for it, which was untrue. The food was good, but not restaurant quality as advertised. Housekeeping was subpar. Toilet paper was not restocked and had to ask 3 times within 12 hours to get more towels. The last time I called I was told it would be a long wait or I could come get them myself. For the price per night, I shouldn’t have to worry about all of this.
