DO NOT BOOK UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO PAY AN EXTRA $30/ NIGHT. This hotel falsely advertises a lower rate and the second you book, they send this ridiculous letter saying "Welcome, you are going to pay $30 per day to park." Sneaky bad business practice. Slimy as can be!
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made it easy to relax right away. The staff were professional and courteous throughout my visit, always ready to help with any questions.
The breakfast was decent, with a fair selection, though it felt a bit overpriced for what was offered. That said, the highlight of my stay was definitely the spectacular view of the lake—it truly made the experience memorable and worth it.
Overall, a good stay with a few small areas for improvement.
One of the main issues was the location. The property is listed as being about 18 km from the Ann Arbor train station, suggesting a 10–12 minute drive, but in reality it’s much farther in terms of travel time—it took over 30 minutes to get into Ann Arbor, which is where we had planned to spend most of our time.
Another downside was the parking. The website stated that parking was free, but we were charged $30 per day, which was unexpected and disappointing.
I've stayed here several times for business trips. The staff is amazing! Anna and Donielle at the front dest were very professional and took care of all my extra needs. The bartenders Matt, Nick, and Gabby were super friendly and their service was top notch. The rooms are always very clean. I would highly recommend staying here.
Building was being worked on. Paid for breakfast and then there was no buffet. Price was much higher than quoted on this app. Not happy at all
Charged us again for the room even though it was already paid for by 3rd party app Booking.com. Still trying to get refunded. No mention that there is also another $30 a night parking fee. You have to use your cards for everything in the hotel including the elevators. Someone on our floor set off the fire alarm in the early early morning and had to evacuate (we were on the 8th floor and had to use stairs). Get out of the stairwell to find everyone down below carrying on with their day as if there was no alarm that ever happened. No direction from staff.
clean and comfortable room
Extra charge for parking has got to go!!!!!
No microwave oven in room.
It was a gorgeous property, I had a lake view room and seeing the sunset over the lake and golf course was wonderful.
Everything was fantastic!
Staff was nice, bed was comfortable!
They charge a solid nightly rate then have the audacity to charge an extra 30 bucks per day for parking in their parking lot even though you're already paying to stay in their property. It's ridiculous and enough for me to not want to go back. Also, I booked a king room but got a double queen room. They probably would have made it right if I would have said something but I was only staying to sleep and didn't want to go through the hassle.
Holiday season decor
The thermostat in our room wasn't working right and we were freezing, even after contacting the front desk for assistance it still wasn't working properly.
Accommodations were excellent and the food was great.
Having to pay $31 a night to park in your parking lot is ridiculous.
The hotel was clean. The location was very nice.
Beautiful
The elevator was hidden, in the back
While this is a lovely Marriott property, we had a terrible experience while attending a Michigan football game. We were booked long in advance to stay on a Saturday to Sunday to see a Michigan game. Two days before the game I got an email saying we would not be able to check in to our room til after the game. It was a night game, starting at 7:30, which meant check in would be at 10 or 11. I was not going to the game, just my family, which meant I had to find something to do from mid afternoon to after the game. I was shocked and had several exchanges with the hotel both by phone and by email. It seems that folks who stayed Friday night were allowed to keep their rooms til much later, because the game started later than the afternoon which was unusual, and so the rest of us were pushed to post game to give time to clean the rooms. The whole thing was disappointing and unpleasant. In the end, I called Marriott because I am an elite member and so got into my room eventually. I am shocked that for the price I was paying the hotel was perfectly fine giving me a room late at night with of course a checkout the next morning. We were essentially paying for 12 hours in a room to sleep. Just be careful because you don't always know when a Michigan game will start and if by chance you get a late game this could be the result at this hotel.
Every single staff member was extremely helpful, friendly, informative, knowledgeable. All went above and beyond, and seemed sincerely happy to be of help and welcoming.
The tvs in the lobby bar were a bit loud and made it hard to converse.
