Great Hotel, centrally located and close to Subway Stations. Good, inexpensive breakfast facilities closeby; if you walk towards 23rd Street there is a deli with an extensive variety of sandwiches and breakfast items.
The Hotel is easy to identify as it has a big H in a lighted sign. So when you come back, tired of walking and the whole day out, it is like a "north star" guiding you to the entrance. Highly recommended, very reasonable pricing.
Location--in Flat Irom neighborhood is ideal
Atmosphere--is pleasant
Room--typically small like most hotels in NYC but very functional
Value-great price for location
Cleanliness--very clean
I had a great stay at the Heritage Hotel in the Gramercy/Flatiron neighborhood of New York City. The location is excellent and within walking distance of great restaurants, shops, and multiple subway stations, which makes getting around the city very easy.
One of the things that stood out most during my stay was the staff. I had the chance to chat with several team members (Zee, Sasha, Karen, and Lorraine) and they were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It made the hotel feel much more personal than a typical NYC stay.
My room was actually larger than many other New York City hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything was well maintained. It was pretty cold while I visited and the heater worked perfectly!
I also appreciated the security measures the hotel has in place. They already have some reassuring systems, and during my stay they were in the process of adding room key card readers to both elevators, meaning only guests with a room key will be able to access the floors. That’s a great added layer of security.
My daughter lives nearby, so finding this hotel was a big win for me. It’s reasonably priced, well located, and staffed with quality people. I’m glad I discovered this gem and it’s now my go-to hotel whenever I visit New York City.
There were many positive aspects, but also a few things that weren’t so great. Starting with the good: The location is excellent, with walking distance to plenty of places, several subway stations on different lines nearby, and friendly service. The room and bathroom were a decent size, and the internet worked well. The hotel also has a gym. Even though everything is a bit worn, the price still felt reasonable compared to many other places in Manhattan.
What didn’t work were the beds. I’m from Norway, and we use duvets. The ridiculous setup with two sheets and a blanket in between — which I still don’t understand — is standard in many hotels, but it simply doesn’t work. The sheets slide off, and you’re left with just the blanket. And the blanket was so thin that you had to keep the heat pump running to avoid freezing. But it was so noisy that I couldn’t sleep. The only solution was to stop the heat pump and to put on several layers of clothing before going to bed.
A proper winter duvet should really be the minimum in an old New York hotel in the middle of winter.
Location ok. Room tiny! Bathroom tiny!
Near other rooms- very close, could hear others doors. No coffee. Just hot water for tea. Definitely not worth the price!!
Sufficient rooms. Everything is just in place. Basic Simple and clean hotel. The staff was very kind and friendly. Location is great!
Good view outside
My room was very small, however my daughter's was a decent size. I may have had a larger room if I had not requested a stall shower. This may have been the only available room that filled that requirement.
I/we visit NYC 3-4 times a year. I book our stays at a different hotel each time, we like try different areas. This stay was disappointing.
I booked this hotel because of an available room with 3 twins. Me & my son had a guys weekend in NYC for his birthday. One of his AF buddies met us there.
The location of the hotel is excellent. The hotel & room were clean. The staff we made contact with were very friendly & courteous. The bed was relatively comfortable. The a/c cooled the room well. The shower was hot with good water pressure.
The problem with this stay for me was value. For what I paid for this hotel room, I could have stayed at a number of better places. The size of the room was small, but the size of the bathroom was rediculous. Literally... there was just enough room to stand in front of the sink with my back against the door. The toilet was like setting in a seat on a Spirit flight, and there was just enough room to step out of the shower. If the room had been 1/2 what I paid, it would be understandable. I/we've stayed at much nicer, and much larger room'd hotels.
I would never consider this hotel again.
I'm doing a solo trip to NYC 10/24, I definitely will not stay here.
This hotel was perfectly adequate for what I needed. The air con worked. The bed was comfortable. There was a working shower. Is it luxurious - no. Is it functional and well positioned - yes.
Friendly staff
My daughter and I stayed here 3 nights and it was perfect. We felt safe in the neighborhood and there was a plethora of dining and shopping options nearby! Walking distance to local attractions (depending on how far you want to walk!) Staff was helpful when we had questions on navigating the city. Cute park nearby to enjoy your breakfast at in the mornings. Highly recommend!
Every thing was fine.
Easy to walk to attractions or close to subway. Clean room. Very thin walls - was awakened by next room’s alarm all the time.
was very clean, air conditioner was working great!
Good
Clean room nice beds and great showers, quiet and great location.
Absolute great stay. We just needed a home base while we explored the city and this was nailed it. Staff was awesome, room was clean and comfortable and location was great. Just so you know, New York is loud at all times so if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. My only slight complaint is I wish the window exteriors were a little cleaner. Would definitely stay there again
The hotel was great. Exactly as described. The rooms are small but well appointed and very clean. Everyone we encountered working there was very helpful and incredibly friendly. Can't beat the location either
Great and helpful staff
