Fab hotel with lots of history. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable & we would definitely stay again
Pros:

It’s a beautiful building with so much history attached to it. Very atmospheric

Cons:

We have stayed a few times and always been on higher floors but we were lower ground floor and it was really noisy as it was closer to street level

Average accommodation in an architectural jewel
Pros:

This is without doubt one of the most beautiful hotel buildings in the country and that is a good reason to visit. But our room was jaded and in need of an update; and why does a hotels at this price point still provide teeny weeny double beds with thin mattress toppers as its ‘standard’ offering? That, combined with traffic noise from Oxford Street, and a vast air conditioning duct, made for a restless, uncomfortable night. Breakfast was a very average affair at £18 per person: the quality was disappointing and more in keeping with a budget chain. For this price I’d like a bit of sourdough, a real sausage with some actual meat in it and bacon that hasn’t been boiled. Would we return? To the restaurant, yes, but not to sleep.

Pros:

Hotel is lovely and rooms are well appointed with a really great bathroom. Very nice gym with really good equipment. Social hour was such a nice idea and we enjoyed our free drink!

Cons:

Our room and one whole side of the hotel is right beside a busy train track and so we were woken early at 5.45 am as the noise of the train was so loud. I don't know anyone who could have slept through that.
