Alternative to higher priced Marriott in Tokyo
Pros:

3 night Sheraton Tokyo Miyako- it's between train stations so about 10 minutes to the nearest station however, the hotel has a shuttle 4x per hour to Meguro Station which we found to be convenient. It also picks up at Meguro. (Look at the attached photo). Had several rooms and the ones that were upgraded to the 8th floor were definitely remodeled and updated. The room on the 2nd floor was much more basic and almost felt like a dorm room. The lounge was nice and they do have a strict guest policy which is nice. Breakfast in the restaurant was offered as a benefit which we selected (we ate at the buffet). The breakfast in the lounge is very similar to the restaurant buffet. They have evening snacks/heavy appetizers and complimentary alcohol. Compared to our stay at the Westin the rooms here felt smaller, not as nice and the food was better at the Westin. Provided it as a comparison as I wouldn't hesitate it stay at the Sheraton again since it's also less expensive.

Delightful Visit
Pros:

My husband and I stayed at Sheraton Miyako Hotel in Tokyo for 3 nights in early March while on vacation. We arrived, like most travelers from the US, fairly exhausted and looking forward to a comfortable bed to rest before launching into a whirlwind tour of Japan. This hotel, and country, did not disappoint! Without question I will be returning...if not for their incredible attention to -- dare I say -- bodily functions! I have traveled extensively and no one -- NO ONE -- has bathrooms like Japan. We have a Toto bidet at home and my husband sincerely misses it while on vacation. Not while we're in Japan! Restaurants, airports, malls, museums, all have properly fitted bathrooms. Of course the hotel's bidet was quite accommodating. In regards to the rest of the hotel, in my opinion, it was all top notch!
- Staff was eagerly professional and friendly.
- Breakfast was plentiful and varied.
- Rooms were spotless.
- Location was ideal.
Just writing this post makes me long to return to the land of the rising sun!

Very comfortable, but a safe would have been helpful.
Pros:

The staff were very helpful and the room and bed were comfortable.

Cons:

There was no safe in the room, and it would have been nice had there been a small mirror in the bathroom for a woman to apply makeup. The big mirror was too far away to see makeup application.

Old Sheraton with minimal upgrade, occasional rude staff and poor gym
Pros:

My second stay.
Hotel apparently high occupancy.
No suite upgrade for Bonvoy Titanium.
Not sure if deluxe room upgrade is best room below suite.

Check in staff more helpful and polite this time. Provided without being asked information about facilities.
I asked lobby staff about gym having not found it but he was rather abrupt in saying “it was downstairs”.

The breakfast in Shisen restaurant was decent and staff friendly and efficient.

The club lounge served decent evening meal with sparking wine. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The gym was the worst in a five star hotel.
Old bare basic weights and machines.
I went one afternoon and they had a class in the weights room turning off lights ignoring our presence!

The hotel shuttle has stopped going to Shinagawa due to construction work but will drop off at Shirokanedai (but no pickup) and Meguro.

A remarkable Sheraton with own Japanese garden in big scale
Pros:

Highlights
- The authentic Japanese garden within the hotel building area is outstandingly beautiful. A short walk in the green feels like the real experience in the pure nature
- The main restaurant serving the breakfast looks like a archeological museum with stunning exhibits from Japanese ancient time
- The breakfast buffet was extraordinary with typical Japanese cuisine and specialties
Improvement potentials
- The gym is pretty much outdated and offers only some cardio exercises opportunities with very old equipments
