Delightful stay for family
Pros:

This facility is well maintained and great value stay near Ouray. We wanted to cover Ouray/Million Dollar Highway and stay in a cosy place on way back to Royal Gorge. This stay was a delightful one and family enjoyed it. We are not looking for luxury in this stay, but a well maintained BnB. We loved breakfast too

Do not stay here
Pros:

The worst hotel experience I've encountered in 40 years of traveling.

We booked Best Western Montrose Inn for 3 nights. Severe weather diverted our flight and we were unable to arrive in Montrose for our first night (we contacted the hotel by phone and email just in case).

When we arrived with two nights still remaining on our reservation and fully paid, we discovered the hotel had canceled our stay and given our room away. No one had notified us. We had traveled all that way with a baby, only to find out at the front desk that we had nowhere to stay.

The hotel blamed Booking.com. Meanwhile, we were left scrambling in the lobby with our baby to find somewhere else. No replacement accommodation was provided, and we ended up paying more for a last-minute hotel.

To make matters worse, Best Western still charged us—including for the remaining nights when we showed up and they could not provide a room. We are still trying to get that money back.

Do not stay here. We ended up having a great stay at the Rathbone which was way nicer and well run.

Friendly staff, location close to airport, quiet place, breakfast included, which was a bonus.
Pros:

The staff was outstanding and went out of their way to accommodate. I was traveling from out of State and my Uber to airport was cancelled and staff provided info on back up call; this turned out to be great and save the day by coming quickly.

Cons:

unavailability of public transport. Uber canceling last minute. I wish I had known about the private driver at the time of check in . He was reliable.

Comfy room, was recently renovated, was good value overall.
Pros:

Comfy bed and room, nice bathroom.

Cons:

Underwhelming quality eggs offered for breakfast. Room was located above the hotel’a cleaning room, could hear and feel ok the floor the constant humming of the washing machines until late in the evening. Room had a smart TV but it wasn’t connected to the internet and functionality was disabled.

Families Beware
Pros:

The beds were comfy. Breakfast pastries were fine.

Cons:

ROOM: We booked 3 nights at this property due to a funeral. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke. When I mentioned this upon check in and asked for a different room, the receptionist said it was late and there wasn't anything she could do except spray the room. I then mentioned my pregnancy and that it was a health concern, not to mention we have a toddler. Same answer, but she would put a note in for staff the next day. The next day it was the same experience except the receptionist was rude, had zero sympathy, and said there was nothing she could do, that booking wouldn't do anything and if I cancelled there wouldn't be any sort of compensation, despite health concerns. I spoke with Booking and they said the property was being uncooperative. We went for a walk the next day and found dozens of cigarette butts outside of our room. Booking gave me some credit which was appreciated. We did not stay another night. We took a loss, which our family truly cannot afford, but the health of our family comes first.

CLEANLINESS: Again the room smells like cigarette smoke. It needs an actual professional cleaning. Spraying more chemicals does not get rid of chemical smoke and it is a health concern for those paying for non smoking rooms. Showers had some pink stains on the door tracks which is a sign of the pink bacteria (serratia marcescens).

AMENITIES: Mostly worked. The fridge, microwave, and coffee were fine. The TV did not connect. We had to screen share which was fine.

BREAKFAST: Normally these breakfasts are just fine. Waffles, eggs, sausage... The eggs here were a bit gritty.

Overall, for slightly more I would recommend staying elsewhere.

It was an okay stay. We probably would find something else for the price.
Pros:

The lady over the bfast was so helpful and kind even heated up some food for us when they were out.

Cons:

We only got our room restocked with towels and bed bed made 1x.
