No hot water
The location was great. Close walk to shops and restaurants. Plenty of parking. Lovely breakfast.

Stayed here on way to Yellowstone and return leg. Three nights gave me some perspective on this hotel. Reception staff courteous and professional. Room was clean and spacious, parking was easy (and plenty of it). Bathrooms are dated and lack of shower handles or rubber matting a challenge for elderly patrons. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant in which breakfast was served (at a cost). The staff there was exceptional, and their breakfast offerings were a great start for extended road trips like ours. For the cost of the room, customers should expect an updated bathroom/shower area--not the "early 90s version" currently in place. Would recommend for both overnight and an extended stay.
Good location downtown
No hot water on the first night and they didn’t offer any compensation. Hot water was intermittent for the remainder of our stay. One of the two elevators also broke down for a while and the other was packed with tourists.

Nice clean hotel that is a little dated but we would stay there again. Very friendly staff and a nice bar and restaurant. No pool or laundry facilities. Within walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants. Right in the downtown area of Rapid City with various shops in the area. Just down the street is a public park that has sprinklers for kids to play in. We were also pleasantly surprised when we arrived from the airport two hours before check in and asked if we could leave our luggage somewhere and they gave is our room early. Very friendly staff.
Welllll, it was a one and done for us. It’s just an older building that needs some TLC. Our room, as my spouse said, was like putting lipstick on a pig. Wasn’t the cleanest, overall disappointed.
This was reasonably priced, had a parking lot and Tom’s coffee truck available in the morning. There was a tour group in line out the door for breakfast at 6am. We had a car and drove to local Dixon Coffee drive-through so we could hit the road ahead of the buses.
I enjoyed the Mount Rushmore artwork that dotted the walls. The rooms were large, but the noisy from the bar below and the traffic outside. The blackout blinds didn't quite reach the wall, so I was up at 5am, as the city is on the eastern side of the Mountain time zone and rises early!
The staff was friendly and provided us with a Presidential tour map and restaurant suggestions. Never had a bad meal in this walkable downtown area.
