The room was extremely dated, the beds were not queen size more like oversized twin. The breakfast was exceptional. Front desk staff were great.
The pool was not clean, it smelled a lot like cigarette everywhere.
I checked in for family weekend I wasn't expecting anything great given its a Quality Inn and Suites. I booked through expedia so, when I arrived the hotel told me I booked a smoking room, that was not mentioned anywhere on the website. After getting up to the room, I tried to request a roll away bed, I was told I could not because it was a fire hazard. Then I went to the front desk to get some extra towels, blanket and pillows, I was told there were not extra pillows or blankets because other people had the rollaway beds (I though they weren't allowed because of a fire hazard). I think we willed at least 3 roaches while we were in our room, we weren't there much because we were their to spend time with my daughter at SIU. I knew most of the hotels in the area were booked so we just has to deal this a stinky, dirty, roach room. I will never stay there again. we kept out bags in our car after seeing a roach. For a total to 200 a night, it was unacceptable disgusting conditions.
Disgusting don’t stay here!!!
Rooms smelled terrible and were not the cleanest. There was stuff on one blanket in our room and floors looked like they had not been vacuumed.
Dirty,mold
Everything was great
Only problem we had was we ask for extra pillows and they daid they had none but they had empty rooms with 4 pillows ours only came with 2. Im sure they could have pulled pillows from another room if they wanted too.
The property is run down and needs renovation and new carpeting. Room smelled musty and had debris on the carpet (hearing aide battery, plastic tags from clothing, other small bits of trash) especially around the edges of the carpet. Did not want to walk barefoot. Bed was good. Breakfast was ok but not great. Personnel were friendly and helpful. TV wouldn't work so room was changed.
Friendly staff. Nice place to stay when attending the dog show. Plenty of mowed grass. Great heated outdoor pool with nice area to socialize.
If you are looking for a room in Marion its best that you keep looking. We have been staying on and off at this location for the last 10 years and it has been a steady decline. The room had a very strong antiseptic cleaner smell. The hallways smelled of weed. We left our room for breakfast and when we returned we found that housekeeping had been in the room and left the door propped open(!)
Local couple we needed a place to stay the night due to our AC being out and its over 100 degrees. Was able to get in quick and they allowed our dog! Room was much nicer than expected and proud to say our hometown has places like this.
First they didn’t have my room after saying they are sold out. Then I couldn’t get into my room because the keys didn’t work. So they put me into another room but there wasn’t a button to turn shower on. So they had maintenance come to my room and when he came he had to give me pliers to turn water on. Then the knobs to turn water on broke off and he said they didn’t have any other knobs to replace it he would have to order them so he told me to use the pliers. There was also no wash cloths or towels only pool towels and gave me scissors to cut the towel to use as a wash cloth. I left another hotel because they had roaches to come here for the knobs not to work or clean wash cloths. I had to go buy some from the store. I would like a refund for the room service I went through while staying there. All the front desk could say was there are sorry and if I want I can let the manger know about my problems.
The room smelled and there were not enough towels for 3 guests. I had to go down to the front desk to ask. There was no phone in the room. The bed comforter had small stains. Shower curtain had small stains on it.
The room as usual we were put way in the back even though we checked in late. Seems to be every hotel policy.
The room we stayed in did the job, my biggest complaint was the location or lack of location of electrical outlets near the bed. I could not have a lamp, clock radio and cell charge all at the same time on both sides of the bed. However this was one of those reworked rooms - extra large, that still needed more work. I know everything is more expensive these days, but everyone thinks they can charge $140(includes tax and fees) regardless the condition of the room. On the positive side I enjoyed the breakfast they provided, sausage, eggs, waffles, yogurt, juice was decent. The pool (didnt use) seemed nice. The people seemed helpful.
The first room we were given had roaches crawling on the walls and our sheets had a very large pee stain. When we presented our concerns to the front desk, he admitted to the roach issue and hinted to the fact that their cleaning services were understaffed and not thorough. He was very helpful and pleasant, and got us in a different room quickly.
Pool was nasty rat feces all over the room and in the hide a bed pool has 1 inch green slime you couldn’t stand up in the pool mold on the stairs of the pool
We should be warned about the garage space and smell. Not to mention the stairwell. The rug needs replaced and a little more care wiping down common areas (light switches, door knobs and the table). The smell in the lobby is overpowering also.
I killed 3 young roaches in room
The hotel ran out of clean towels etc. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the roaches. I was only given a 15 % refund on the room
Nothing special - a decent place to stay
The beds were not very comfortable at all. The room was okay but didn’t think it was worth what we paid to stay there for the night. The breakfast was underwhelming.
