When we got to our room, there wasn't any desk chair available. When I asked the housekeeping staff, she had a difficult time understanding English and had to relay the information to her supervisor. Her supervisor then said via the housekeepers hone that "Not All Rooms Have Desk Chairs".. I find this unacceptable and inexcusable. When I expressed this, she went and got a chair from an adjacent room and brought it in to our room. I found that the chair back was bent back, further examination of the chair revealed half the screws holding the back and arms were barely attached and I had to hand tighten them. When I expressed this concern to the front desk, another chair was placed in my room that, again had half the screws barely attached or stripped out and the height adjustment didn't work. The room's closet door did not have a handle on it to open/close it. The shower faucet's handle was missing. It simply was thing after another and I expected more from a "Best Western-Plus" than I got.
Check in was ok, but slow since they were short on staff for Saturday night. Room was clean and tidy upon arrival. Beds were medium firm comfortable with plenty of extra pillows. Comforter kept us warm. TV and refrigerator worked well. We didn’t use the microwave or in room safe. Bathroom was clean and had usual bath amenities. Visually it was fine but maintenance was a hidden problem. Tub drain was very slow, only one small, loosely mounted towel rack, and no mounted toilet tissue roller. Room was quiet with a few thumps from neighbors upstairs.
Public bathroom ran out of toilet tissue in the only stall open. Paper towels ran out when I used it.
Hot and cold breakfast had a good decent spread of items. There was a good selection of hot items like eggs, sausage and potatoes but they were not cooked well. Juice, coffee, cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit provided plenty of other options. Waffle maker made undercooked waffles. However it was very popular with families with children.
Hotel had a 7.2 rating. Our experience did not match this rating.
On 03 /13 my husband reserved two rooms side be side. One of these rooms had a toilet that did not flush. (Had to fill the toilet with cups of water from the sink in order to flush). My husband called down to the desk explained the toilet situation and the clerk instead of moving rooms GAVE him a room key for the empty room across the hall to use the toilet. This room had not been slept in, nothing touched, just the two that were paid for. Suddenly tonight we’re headed to bed about 11:00 pm they claim we do not have rooms and “somehow have access to three” my husband pulled up bank statements from BOTH debit cards use to pay for the two rooms . The employee that set up our rooms and ALSO gave the key for the bathroom stood beside the “general manager” but refused to speak up and tell her the situation. She sat there silent. Instead of speaking up she allowed a family of 8 to be kicked out for something she HERSELF set up and took payments for:
Not only that, we did not get our deposit back because “they didn’t take a deposit” WHAT hotel never takes a deposit..especially when they made it a point to tell us the deposit amount for BOTH rooms. 🙃
This is a very nice Best Western! It was 12° the night I stayed, but the breakfast room, hallways, and guestrooms were extremely warm. Even the tile bathroom floor was warm! The breakfast was delicious, with all kinds of muffins, fruit, fresh juices, cereals, waffles, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, biscuits, tasty gravy, whole milk, 2% milk, chocolate milk, and really good, hot coffee. The breakfast staff and the counter staff were very friendly, too. There's a very nice exercise room and several vending machines as well. I would recommend this motel to all my friends and family and to anyone else who wants a great place to stay.
When we first checked in, we got a room 201 key. Then all of a sudden they weren't sure if there was already someone in the room, so the desk clerk checked and it was indeed open. We go up to our room and the key wouldn't work. Back downstairs we had to go again. We headed down for breakfast at 9:30 only to be told it was over at 9. The sign on the wall says breakfast is 6-10, but another sign said it was 6-9. We only saw the 6-10 sign so missed out on breakfast both Saturday and Sunday. We then go back to our room and the key wouldn't work yet again. This hotel is in need of a makeover. The bed had hardly any "spring" left to it, we had gnats all weekend in our room and the fixtures are run down. I must say, this is the worse stay we've ever had at this hotel.
This was a very clean and wonderful room. Personnel were very courteous. The breakfast was good and attendant made sure the food was hot. Location was great and a lot of places to eat nearby.
Everything was going well. Superb location, affordable, clean room… until I entered the bathroom to shower. The bathtub was extremely dirty and the water wasn’t draining properly.
I arrived on a Tuesday night and the trash on front was over flowing until Thursday night. My bathroom had a light and fan that didn’t work. My tv was broken. My ceiling had a water spot. The caulk in my bathtub was moldy and had huge gaps in it and my shower head had bad hard water build up all over it. Will not stay again on my next trip. Staff was very nice and helpful but the building is not cared for.
The girls working the desk were very friendly and extremely helpful. We would definitely stay here again if or when we come back to Wichita. Our room was very comfortable too!
After reading the reviews from the last few months, it's clear that there are rooms that are in good working order and rooms that are pitifully broken down, and I don't just mean old and outdated; they are non-functioning! Why do you keep putting guests in these rooms!!!! The bad reviews will cost you more in the long run than you'll make by cheating people with a horrible stay. I've stayed multiple times over the years, and yes, the place needs updating; that doesn't bother me if the room is clean and in working order, which was the case this past weekend. Guess we were lucky and got one of the good rooms. If problems that arise cannot be quickly rectified by maintenance, then folks should be at least partially compensated, or you look like you just don't care. Same with the courtesy van; as long as it's still being advertised and you haven't personally let the guest know it is unavailable, they should be compensated for the extra expense of other transportation.
I booked this hotel because I needed an overnight stay with a shuttle to the airport. The website said they have a shuttle and they had one parked proudly at the entrance to the hotel. But upon checking in I learned they had discontinued the service. They would not refund my stay. And I had to find other means to get to the airport in time for my flight. False advertising. The hotel itself is dated and under disrepair. There were fixtures in the bathroom that had fallen down and just laid there. The lamp would not stay on in the room. I asked to speak with a manager and never got a response. I would never recommend this hotel.
The hotel was very nice. Successful food was great. Drinks were awesome. Very quiet, relaxing great downtime couldn’t ask for better.
Very impressed with how nice the staff were and the rooms were clean and smelled great. Check in clerk was very kind and helpful.
They do not offer airport transport as listed on their website . Th ey have a van parked outside the front door but we were told they dropped insurance months ago . They also disagree with the corporate site on check out time and the hours covered by the $20 up charge . Inexcusable
I liked the convenient location relative to the airport, and it was fairly easy to go to the local stores and other attractions. My only real issues were the neighborhood, which I understand the hotel can't control, and the wi-fi signal. For my room, it was a little inconsistent, so that could use some improvement. That said, the free breakfast was very good, and the staff were very accommodating about fixing my key cards and bringing fresh towels.
Clean room.
No hot water in sink. Air port shuttle had been discontinued.
The area felt very unsafe that the hotel was in. They no longer have shuttle service to the airport either which was why i chose this hotel.
Good
This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. They were overbooked and understaffed. We booked 2 rooms. One was ok the other not so much. We couldn't get into the room because the batteries on the door were dead and there wasn't anyone to fix it. The next room was never cleaned from the previous people. There wasn't anyone to clean that room. They put us in a different room and told us they would comp us a night, but never did. They put us back in the original room the next night but it still wasn't cleaned. The third night both rooms were cleaned. The hallways were never vacuumed and pieces of paper were in the same spot all weekend long. Just a horrible experience all around.
