Nice accommodations, but questionable value for money.
Pros:

Well designed and comfortable rooms.

Cons:

Good Indian food for dinner, however VERY expensive - more than a nice Indian restaurant in London.
Breakfast was among the worst I've had in a B&B or manor house of this stature - that should be addressed for the price you pay for a room here.

Pros:

Ho soggiornato qui per una sola notte, struttura incantevole immersa nel verde. Personale gentile e accogliente, sempre attento a ogni dettaglio. Ottimo anche il ristorante, dove abbiamo fatto una cena davvero squisita. Camera pulita, calda e confortevole. Consigliatissimo!

Last minute decision to book a hotel on way up to North Scotland. This hotel was exceptionally good.

Beautifully renovated Victorian manor with an outstanding restaurant
Pros:

We stayed one night in this old Victorian house, which was renovated a few years ago by the new owners. Our room was generously sized and really lovely, with a big, comfortable bed and a Nespresso machine, along with high-quality Highland Soap toiletries. Modern touches like USB ports by the bed were combined nicely with original features such as the old wooden floorboards and furniture that fits the character of the house.

In the evening we ate at the hotel restaurant, which has a strong North Indian focus, reflecting the owners' own background. The food was excellent, and the restaurant was busy, so booking ahead is definitely recommended even for hotel guests. The menu also includes local classics like fish and chips, but the Indian dishes are clearly the signature and a real highlight of the stay.

The team was very friendly throughout. There is ample parking and a comfortable lounge to relax in. The setting is quiet, slightly off the main road running north to south.

A very comfortable stay overall, in a house that has been carefully renovated without losing its historic charm.

Cons:

Breakfast was a little behind the rest of the experience. It's a buffet with a few warm dishes, plus eggs cooked to order. A bit more variety, perhaps with an Indian touch, would have been a nice addition, though this is more a suggestion than a real criticism.

Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Einfaches Einchecken und Auschecken. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen waren gut. Es war angenehm, dass im Restaurant keine Hunde erlaubt waren. Die Auswahl war gut. Das Bett war bequem.

Cons:

Die Beschreibung auf der Buchungsplattform war korrekt, aber ich habe mir das Haus gemütlicher vorgestellt. Die Stühle im Restaurant waren ein bisschen zu eng für meine Hüften. Morgens hat man die Wasserrohre vibrieren gehört, als andere Gäste geduscht haben. Die Lobby war eigentlich sehr hübsch und wir haben dort auch mal auf den bequemen Sesseln gesessen, aber da waren wir die einzigen Gäste. Die Bar war sehr klein und ungemütlich, und dort ist es auch erlaubt, Hunde mitzubringen. Einige Gäste hatten sehr große Hunde.

I wouldn’t stay here again
Pros:

The Indian food in the restaurant was good but expensive for the quantity of meat that was in the meal. Putting loads of rice out is cheap. Staff were very friendly.

Cons:

The breakfast would have been better with back bacon rather than streaky bacon. Had to get the bathroom fan turned off as constantly on.

Lovely old building
Pros:

Lovely old property and staff very helpful except the person on the reception at departure was not very good.

Cons:

Breakfast was awful but the evening meal was good . There was a terrible noise coming from ? Somewhere along the corridor and we were in room 10 .
