Highly recommended
Pros:

Extremely nice and friendly staff, very clean little rooms. Nice garden (with pool) to spend lovely moments. I didn't order breakfast so I can't say anything about it. The hotel has no restaurant (at least not when I was there), but this doesn't matter at all, there is a little bar so you can spend the evening with drinks in the lovely garden. Also, they provide soup throughout the day in case you get hungry. It's a cute and cosy, quaint place which is extremely comforting. Definitely the best hotel I stayed in in Friedrichsdorf.

Perfect. Perfect perfect perfect. Had my wedding reception here. Did I say Perfect?
Pros:

I had my wedding reception at the Lindenhof May 2015. I kept forgetting to review it but now I have a moment I wanted to thank Marc Rompel for the amazing service and help. My husband and I were living in Friedrichsdorf for a few years and decided to get hitched. Randomly my sister who also lives there suggested the Lindenhof. We went in not expecting much because the town is so small. HOLY MOLY. Not only is the Lindenhof beautiful. A 500+ year old Linden tree is in the Biergarten with a lovely patio and side pond. The foyer is cozy and bare wood for a cabin feel. Comfortable chairs and a sofa, well decorated. A very classic style bar, wonderful dining rooms, and a room just big enough for some dancing.

The service was nothing like I had experienced. That is coming from an American too! Herr Rompel was gracious and helpful when deciding on every detail. He had recommendations and pictures for reference. He also was more than willing to work within our budget which wasn't very big but we got such a wonderful experience with it none the less. He catered to our whims about certain foods, wines, and our favorite beer. (schlappeseppel) He even suggested we bring in pictures from home to set up around the hotel to make it feel like home. He was very adamant about that. He wanted us to feel like it was our place just like we were having a few friends over for dinner. <3 We wanted to participate in Baumstamm Sägen, to saw a log after your vows to symbolize the work you will need to do together to achieve a happy marriage. So we asked Herr Rompel if he could set it up. He did and it was perhaps the most lasting memory of the wedding! Marc is a bit of a card so he had the log (cut from the very Linden tree that was in the biergarten) on a saw horse with ribbon in the biergarten waiting. When we made the announcement that we were going to saw a log so everyone should gather around.... he came out with a 100 year old antique saw and a devilish grin. It was fantastic. Everyone was laughing and everyone also had a go. (2 of my bridesmaids finally managed it). We had the hotel for the entire night and a few of us, along with Marc, were finishing the night at 5am with some drinks. He was there the whole time making sure the night was a success. But that doesn't even begin to describe the waitstaff. The girls were friendly, tolerant of some of my more enthusiastic guests, and my, nor anyone else's cup was ever empty. They were a part of the party and a few even danced with us near the end. Oh! And he allowed my giant fluffmonster of a dog to come to our meetings and to stay throughout the reception. :)

Food was also amazing. I'll post pictures to get the idea but we had a very eclectic menu and everything was delicious. Very affordable. Bacon wrapped dates, meatballs, cheese plates, flatbread, roasted potatoes, Mediterranean veggies, salmon, prime rib, and more! And it was beautifully presented. We had quite a few guests stay at the Lindenhof from the States and they still to this day talk about the food they had at the wedding but also the wonderful service and food during their stay.

I just can't say enough. So many of my friends tell me our wedding was one of the best parties they had ever been to. Great atmosphere, great people. I'm going back for a visit in December to Germany and you can bet I will be dropping in to say hi to Marc and the rest of the Lindenhof family.

Unter Dem Linden
Pros:

One of the most welcoming and friendliest hotels we have ever stayed in. My husband is a frequent visitor due to business connections in Friedrichsdorf and has been promising me for years to take me there. Their concept is to make you feel at home and this is exactly what they did; no huge amounts of buffet breakfast getting colder, but freshly cooked eggs to your choice. A full selection of cereals, jams, (all homemade) breads, cold meats, fish, cheeses, fruit, fruit juices etc. but in smaller portions that kept being filled up, so as to make it more homely.
The setting was perfect for a German Hamlet; reminded me a bit of my To Skapariko kitchen at The Old Olive Mill Dhoros; a good collection of German home antiques all tastefully placed in the reception, dining and breakfast areas.
The icing on the cake was the Linden or Lime tree for which it is named. Huge and ancient in the cobbled courtyard that also serves as a beirgarten with running water cascading from an old waterfall feature.
I can't wait to be asked over again.....

Significant deficiencies in service in quality
Pros:

Hotel Lindenhof is situated in the small town of Friedrichsdorf. Friedrichsdorf has a direct connection Frankfurt by motorway an S-Bahn (S5) and is therefore popular with business travellers.
We travelled on business and chose the hotel for a number of reasons: it offered free internet, free parking and was in walking distance to the meeting location.

We arrived to the hotel on Sunday and stood in front of closed doors – despite prebooking the rooms two weeks ago. We had to call the hotel by phone to get somebody to open the door for us. The excuse given: “we’re closed on Sundays”.

We were led to a building across the street from the hotel. This was not the actual hotel but a multi-family house. The apartment we were given looked clean and freshly refurbished. But it came with quite a number of issues:

The curtains were so thin that the room could not be darkened. You had bright daylight from 5:30am onwards. There was no internet in the building, which is essential for most business travellers, free internet was only available in the actual hotel.

One part of the room had the end of water pipes (presumably they used to serve for the connection of a washing machine). These came out as blunt ends and were not covered.

There were biscuits and water in the room. The biscuits had a Best Before End date of April 2013 (they were only 11 month over their prime).

The Bathroom had shower gel which was never refilled. Two bottles for two people over three days is not sufficient.

All in all, for the price paid, there are many better hotels to choose from.

BEAUTIFUL!!!
Pros:

Did I mention this place is beautiful? Quiet, cozy and the breakfast buffet is amazing! About an hour from Frankfurt Airport and well worth the money. I wish we could have stayed another night but we booked it the night before we were leaving Germany...

Charming Hotel with lovely restaurant
Pros:

This is a nice family operated hotel outside Frankfurt. The hotel has a very nice typical German bar and the rooms are fine. Best bet is to ask for one of the newly refurbished rooms.
