If you want to benefit from a cold room without extra charge, go there out of season, like mid-March: no heating in certain rooms, and 1 unfortunate towel warmer which is largely insufficient...
Or ask for a bathtub to be installed so you can sleep in the bathroom.
Unless you go through a considerate travel organizer.
A receptionist who only speaks Italian; 1 electric roller shutter which does not go up completely but whose motor continues to try to do so...
A closure would be necessary while waiting for sunny days!
Personale efficiente e disponibile.Struttura molto puita
Perfect place to enjoy the seaside and the beach with the family! Food is great and kids are always in a safe place to play and enjoy the summer lifestyle! Nature is all around and puglia traditionals festivals are always on in the neighborhood!
I had the pleasure to recently revisit this place and stayed at the Hotel dei Bizantini for a few days. I had a room overlooking the ocean; absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are spacious and quite basic. Everything is nice and clean. There is a small TV and AC (for which you require some kind of a card available at the front desk. The hotel is right on the beach, the ocean is gorgeous and great for swimming. Best of all it is not crowded at all and the water temperature was in the mid-70s (24 degrees centigrade) in early June. Don't expect luxury and spas, just a great place with wonderful, happy people who run the place. WiFi does not work well (or not at all) in the rooms but is available in the lobby or at the bar. They serve nice breakfast and generally really nice food. Service was friendly and great.
We stayed 3 nights in a 4 bed bungalow at Campo die Messapi. The bungalows were clean, but very simple (no fridge, no television, air conditioning not included in room rate). The cottages are nicely set between big oleander trees and private parking is available just in front of the units.
The rate was rather high compared to other similar hotels, I would even say too high. Breakfast was good, service average. Wifi is available only in the hall of the main Hotel. We booked B&B only, so I cannot comment on the other on-site infrastructure such as tennis, beach etc.
The overall experience might be better when booking all-inclusive packages with beach and meals. I can recommend the site for its beautiful setting but would recommend to negotiate the rate prior to booking.
