Hotel in buona posizione per visitare la città. Camera molto pulita e spaziosa, stile originale. Non c'e l'ascensore ma per me non ha rappresentato un problema. Staff gentilissimo e disponibile.
What did you like about the property?
The staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. The service was good, and although the reception is not open during the night, the self check-in instructions were very clear and informative, so getting into the hotel was quick and easy. The room was also clean when we arrived.
Unfortunately, despite the nice staff, our stay in the Mozart room was very uncomfortable.
The biggest problem was the complete lack of sound privacy. The Mozart room is located directly next to the reception and breakfast/common area. We could clearly hear people talking, walking, cleaning and moving around outside the room, and it felt like people outside could hear us just as easily. There was essentially no acoustic privacy, which made it difficult to relax and made normal private moments in the room uncomfortable.
There was also a lot of noise in the mornings. In addition to guests, reception activity and cleaning, there was a repetitive mechanical/compressor-like or drilling noise coming from outside for several hours at a time.
The room itself was clean, but many things felt poorly designed or not properly maintained. The shower-head holder was broken, so we could not attach the shower head properly and had to hold it by hand while showering throughout our stay.
The air conditioning was probably the biggest technical problem. The room became extremely hot and stuffy without AC, so using it was basically necessary. However, the AC unit is positioned very close to the bed and blows directly towards your head and face while sleeping. Even when reducing the fan speed, the airflow was still very strong.
The AC remote/control also worked very poorly. Sometimes the unit would not switch on or off correctly, and we eventually had to reset/reprogram it to make it work. In addition, part of the internal flap appeared to be broken, producing a constant rattling/buzzing noise when the AC was running at higher power. So the choice was basically between sleeping in a very hot room or sleeping with cold air blowing directly at your face together with the noise from the unit.
The view from our room was also very disappointing: mainly a concrete wall, a damaged/abandoned-looking car below and a dog kennel/cage between the buildings.
All was exceptional in a small and cozy palast!
