Nice hotel and friendly staff
Pricey
San Francisco Marriott Marquis is what I will call your typical huge convention hotel that you can find in prime locations in most major US cities. The hotel is huge but to be fair, service is pretty good. As a Platinum member, I was treated fairly well and got access to an executive lounge, which is decent. Drinks and snacks are available at all times and there is a decent continental breakfast spread in the mornings. The room is what you expect from a typical Marriott and the internet worked well. As a Platinum member, I have free premium WiFi. There is a destination fee which include various food & beverage credits but honestly it is just a scam that needs to be eliminated soon. US government and state government need to step up and to curb this really annoying practice. If I don't need to stay in this location, I will select a lower grade Marriott hotel just to avoid this annoying charge.
In terms of safety, I feel fairly safe at this location. While I will not recommend walking alone at night, it is fairly safe with plenty of car rides available within a reasonable wait. I was able to walk to various spots during daytime too. BTW, it has a nice gym too, as it doubles as a membership gym during daytime.
The hotel is excellent. Everything was great.
We had a beautiful corner room with a beautiful view. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. My room was ready when I checked in which was very appreciated as we were traveling with my 87 year old mom. I felt very safe as The Marriott had security and you needed you hotel key in the elevator to get to your floor. Overall, we had a very good experience. The bell man was very helpful with directions and showing us how to get to the Warriors game on public transit.
The $100 dollar fee for parking my car was ridiculous. I feel like if you are paying for a room, parking should be free or at least at a reduced rate.
I liked the location, kind of close to the convention center. Got a floor upgrade but not room type upgrade as titanium. Bed was comfy, the lack of water bottles situation needs to be explained. Great shower.
Club lounge needs better hours and to remain open more frequently with more varied food.
Fast elevators
This hotel is definitely crowded but it’s fantastic! It’s clean, and the staff is second to none. The front desk manager Brianna is as good as it gets! I am a titanium elite member and she makes me feel ambassador every time I check in! REY at the Bonvoy elite counter, the other REY at the bellman desk, Kyle and Katie at the front desk! Devante, Elena, and Roberto in the M Lounge— thank you!!!!
THE WOMEN MAKING YOUR LATTES IN THE PANTRY MARKET GREET YOU WITH SMILES ALL DAY LONG.
I’m pretty sure the hotel food and drink is more expensive than any Ritz-Carlton, so I suggest you head out for meals. A latte is $10 minimum.
Other than the expensive offerings of granola bars and chips, I love it here because of the team. The staff. SEE YOU ALL SOON!!!
Cleaners of bed and bed sheets
No drinking water Nortroomservice
Great location nice staff but few minor issues, daily housekeeping requested and not provided, windows extremely dirty, toiletries empty on arrival. Much better hotels in San Francisco that at least manage to get the basics right
Room, amenities, bed, view were impeccable!
Parked across the street because the parking fee is ridiculous! Trying to find a way to drive into the front part of the hotel feels like walking into a death trap. I’ll just uber in next time.
I liked how the hotel was clean from inside and smelled very good.
I don’t like how people already pay a good amount of money for the stay and we still had to pay EXTRA for parking this hotel has 0 parking unless it’s valet parking and for people who have big cars like us the charge for valet was 200 a night which is ridiculous. This hotel should have a parking lot for all of its guest . Not just valet parking .
