Dismissive front desk personnel lacking sensitivity addressing needs of potential hotel guests
Pros:

We are a family traveling with kids, and we had reached out to the front desk inquiring on the pet policy for the hotel; one of our kids has severe pet hair allergy. The female receptionist at the front desk was beyond rude with her tone and verbiage during the inquiry call. She basically verbalized that our concern was obsolete, and the hotel cannot accommodate this request. Mind you we were not insisting to have a pet-free accommodation arrangement, we were simply requesting info because it was a health necessity. It was so unnecessary and unprofessional on her part. She behaved in a very dismissive way, and did not care for the health hazard it could present to the potential guests. Too bad that we had previously stayed this hotel before, and never had this poor of guest experience. To be disregarded and disrespected (even just over the phone) was a clear sign that the customer service presented was not what we valued and wished for. Despite its ideal location and amenities, we will no longer be guests here. If you have any pet allergy, just know that your needs matter. Don't be miserable and experience a health hazard while you are on vacation away from home.

We enjoyed our mini vacation to San Francisco.
Pros:

It was a very nice place.

Cons:

It was expensive. It was also too far from the Pier 39 to walk back and forth.

Great “The View” experience
Pros:

Eva in the View Lounge was absolutely fantastic, she was extremely friendly and helpful during a large convention rush and the rush after a Giants game. She was attentive and has great detail and remembered personal touches she remembered through our the short trip we had to the bar.

I would come back 10/10 times just for her service and attentiveness.

Typical Giant US Convention Hotel with a Stupid Destination Fee which is a ripoff
Pros:

San Francisco Marriott Marquis is what I will call your typical huge convention hotel that you can find in prime locations in most major US cities. The hotel is huge but to be fair, service is pretty good. As a Platinum member, I was treated fairly well and got access to an executive lounge, which is decent. Drinks and snacks are available at all times and there is a decent continental breakfast spread in the mornings. The room is what you expect from a typical Marriott and the internet worked well. As a Platinum member, I have free premium WiFi. There is a destination fee which include various food & beverage credits but honestly it is just a scam that needs to be eliminated soon. US government and state government need to step up and to curb this really annoying practice. If I don't need to stay in this location, I will select a lower grade Marriott hotel just to avoid this annoying charge.

In terms of safety, I feel fairly safe at this location. While I will not recommend walking alone at night, it is fairly safe with plenty of car rides available within a reasonable wait. I was able to walk to various spots during daytime too. BTW, it has a nice gym too, as it doubles as a membership gym during daytime.

Very nice stay with friendly staff.
Pros:

We had a beautiful corner room with a beautiful view. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. My room was ready when I checked in which was very appreciated as we were traveling with my 87 year old mom. I felt very safe as The Marriott had security and you needed you hotel key in the elevator to get to your floor. Overall, we had a very good experience. The bell man was very helpful with directions and showing us how to get to the Warriors game on public transit.

Cons:

The $100 dollar fee for parking my car was ridiculous. I feel like if you are paying for a room, parking should be free or at least at a reduced rate.

Good stay
Pros:

I liked the location, kind of close to the convention center. Got a floor upgrade but not room type upgrade as titanium. Bed was comfy, the lack of water bottles situation needs to be explained. Great shower.
Club lounge needs better hours and to remain open more frequently with more varied food.
Fast elevators

BEST TEAM, MANAGERS, SERVICE! Veeeeeerrrrry pricey food and drink— but the guest services is second to none.
Pros:

This hotel is definitely crowded but it’s fantastic! It’s clean, and the staff is second to none. The front desk manager Brianna is as good as it gets! I am a titanium elite member and she makes me feel ambassador every time I check in! REY at the Bonvoy elite counter, the other REY at the bellman desk, Kyle and Katie at the front desk! Devante, Elena, and Roberto in the M Lounge— thank you!!!!
THE WOMEN MAKING YOUR LATTES IN THE PANTRY MARKET GREET YOU WITH SMILES ALL DAY LONG.
I’m pretty sure the hotel food and drink is more expensive than any Ritz-Carlton, so I suggest you head out for meals. A latte is $10 minimum.
Other than the expensive offerings of granola bars and chips, I love it here because of the team. The staff. SEE YOU ALL SOON!!!
