Very enjoyable! I would recommend the hotel.
Pros:

Excellent selection at breakfast, Items replenished continually. All the staff were very helpful, pleasant and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean.

Cons:

A lift to the first floor would have been useful.

Pros:

Chef provides a fantastic breakfast - excellent choice and nicely cooked and presented. Loved the BBQ bacon and sausages. Waiting staff in the restaurant were attentive and professional, together with the chef and the kitchen staff - all were showing pride in doing a good job. A special name check for Chef and Sandy.

Reception staff were also fabulous.

It felt like the standard had been restored to previous levels of excellence.


We’d recently stayed at another Holiday Inn in Brighouse and the Ipswich one was better by miles!

Won’t be back at any holiday inn after poor experiences
Pros:

The location. I was visiting for work and was able to get going quickly the following morning.

Cons:

Limescale all over the sink
Limescale all over the shower
Limescale on the kettle
TV didn’t work (not the first time in a holiday inn)

Air conditioning was blowing cold air constantly, had to turn it off and sleep with my clothes on.

The radiator in the room was underneath the window, so when the curtains were shut the heat wasn’t coming into the room.

Tries to phone for room service multiple times and kept ringing out. Eventually got through to someone who said they’d connect me, and it rang out again. Went to reception, nobody available, had to go to McDonald’s down the road as I didn’t want to sit in a busy bar on a work trip.

Pros:

The hotel has a nice vibe about it. The staff make you feel welcome and the lounge area is homely. Well laid out room too. Plenty of parking.

Great breakfast and lovely staff
Pros:

Quiet, pool was big enough to do lengths in, sauna was good.
Customer service was EXCEPTIONAL! No questions asked with a request due to the sad reason of my visit. I think it was Alex maybe on reception who was lovely. The guy in the gym was so friendly - so accommodating with making it easy for me to use the pool. Breakfast was yummy and had a great level of variety including dietary requirements. Didn’t properly look at the gym due to time constraints but if you gave them a cal I’m sure they’d tell you what was in there.

Cons:

A bit tired, light on carpark so bright that the birds thought it was daytime at midnight. Timings for the gym and pool were annoying - but also I did arrive later on a Friday evening. I was hoping for a swim and sauna around 2030 but the pool shut then. Mon-Thurs is later closing.
