Adequate but expensive for what it is
Pros:

We paid $612 for 4 nights. This was more than people were paying in more modern motels. We booked late so were grateful to have a bed at all. The exterior looks shabby. Although advised, the thump thump noise on Saturday night was tough going after a long day, so asking people to pay $150 a night with that, is unreasonable. The room was very clean and we appreciated the servicing of the room each day. The stairs need to be advise to older travellers or those with disabilities. We both are carrying injuries, so the stairs with suitcases was hard going.

Pros:

Thank you very much, we really enjoyed our stay. Everything is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. Great location, within a few minutes walk to the CBD. Great value for money. We would stay here again.

Cons:

There were contractors working outside so it was a bit noisy.

Pros:

Awesome staff, hostess with the most for sure.
Bar and entertainment cannot be beaten.

Pros:

Location was great and cost was fair. It has a "back in time" charm to it. The rooms we booked were very clean and tidy and in great condition. Owner was extremely friendly and made sure the rooms were ready for an early check in. She also answered all my previsit questions.
There is locked carparking which gave me piece of mind for the car.

Cons:

The only thing to comment on would be the shower. Pressure was OK, but the fluctuation in temperature was inconsistent. At one point it went from warm to scolding without warning and I had to turn it off quickly to stop it. This might be the older style mixer on the wall causing this.

Home away from home...
Pros:

Good old fashioned service - staff made us feel like friends rather than valued guests. Food in bar was very nice. generous servings and nicely cooked and drained.
Owners are a credit to the industry and know how to recruit, train and motivate staff.
Hope to come back some time.

Pros:

Perfect location as our function was at the Masonic. We were not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised by the little touches.

Cons:

As expected the rooms are not very sound proof a fair bit of noise from other guests and pubs.
