I liked everything about my stay at Majapahit. Staying at this century old hotel for me was as much an experience as accommodation. A step back to an age of class and elegance with all of the modern conveniences . Friendly staff, outstanding breakfast, wonderful large pool, high ceilings and authentic room furnishings are just a few of the things that make this place outstanding. I was in room 158 .

C’est l’un des meilleurs hôtels où j’ai eu l’occasion de séjourner pendant mon séjour en Indonésie.

Had a wonderful time staying at Majapahit Hotel Surabaya. The moment we entered the lobby was felt like stepped back in time. Booked a classic room but got a free upgrade to a Heritage Suite room as part of the Accor Platinum membership. The room was well designed and spacious. The lights were bright and everything worked well, implying that the hotel took a really good care of the room and overall facilities.
Our room was located near the east garden where some restoration works were happening. Would love to try their rooms near the herbs garden in the future. For those who prefer a tranquil stay could opt to the more quite north garden area.
We had a dinner at Indigo Restaurant and the foods were excellent.
All the staffs were kind and helpful. Even the Hotel GM greeted us and other guests during breakfast one morning.
I would suggest to book the Hotel Heritage Tour as well as part of your stay. It really helped to understand the rich history the hotel proudly preserve. The tour took around 45 minutes and it allows you to enter the historic legendary suite room which once was an office for the colonial Dutch and Japan as well. The afternoon tea was a perfect way to end the tour and it was delish (price included, but in our case it was free due to our Platinum tier member).
In addition, its strategic location speaks itself. Highly recommend and would love to return.
Staying at Hotel Majapahit felt like stepping into a time machine-specifically, into the palace of my childhood dreams. Even though it's located right in the heart of the city, the ambiance is incredibly calm and relaxing. Don't believe any rumors about it being "spooky"; the vibe is purely elegant and serene.
I arrived during a heavy rainstorm, but my room was perfectly prepared, clean, and at a comfortable temperature. The balcony overlooking the North Garden was a highlight; the natural light is stunning, and the sound of the fountain adds a perfect touch of peace.
The facilities are top-tier. I was worried that "historic" might mean "outdated," but the bathroom was spotless with amazing water pressure that felt like bathing in a warm tropical rain. As for the food: the Indonesian breakfast is a must. The Soto and Nasi Kuning are easily the best I've had. Combined with that classic, warm Indonesian hospitality, this was a perfect stay.
