From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was just on another level — timeless, elegant, and full of character. The colonial architecture and lush gardens instantly made us feel like we were stepping into a different era, but with all the modern comforts you could ask for. It’s one of those rare properties that truly lives up to its legacy.
Beautiful room. Excellent staff. Great Indonesia food
De hele ambiance, van de kamer tot het eten, het was een heerlijk verblijf!
Niets viel er tegen.
There are a few Accor hotels in which you have an immediate feeling of belonging. For me, Majapahit Hotel gave out an immediate sense of belonging. Firstly, thanks to the welcome email by Ms. Aanisa. Few ACCOR hotels acknowledge Accor status and loyalty in welcome emails, and I was delighted that Majapahit Hotel in Surabaya did this.
Likewise, walking into the hotel to check-in felt like coming into a home and being welcomed as a family member. For me, the entire experience felt like Majapahit Hotel was like a home with spacious gardens, and rooms for visiting family members. I thank the Front Office Team, who were among the best in my experiences in terms of service, care, warmth and hospitality. Ms. Nabella, Ms. Anna, Mr. Diego and my favourite character, Mr. Natan. Concierge were also first-rate.
As were the Breakfast and Lounge teams: Ms. Maria and Ms. Winda at the Lounge, and Ms. Lilik, Ms. Annisa, Ms. Nanda. The chefs Mr. Rafi and Ms. Titien were excellent. At the first Opening of Fast Ceremony Dinner, there was also Mr. Vincent. It was fantastic to see the number and variety of Indonesian dishes on offer alongside the usual breakfast buffet Western dishes.
I met Mr. Kahar, GM, and shared how impressed I am with the service, warmth and hospitality at his hotel. He appeared to me to be visible and hands-on, and therefore I am not surprised his teams follow his excellent lead.
I shared with Mr. Kahar that, although Majapahit is my very first Accor hotel anywhere in Indonesia, I have stayed in numerous hotels across several other countries. Majapahit Hotel, as my very first Accor Hotel in Indonesia, served as an excellent ambassador for Accor as well as the country of Indonesia. For me, Majapahit ranks among the best I've stayed in. This also factors in how knowledgeable and prompt the Hotel was with Accor procedures and benefits.
Finally, although the hotel is historic in status and appearance, the rooms and grounds are very comfortable, clean and peaceful. Kudos also to the Housekeeping and Maintenance teams with their attention to detail and pride in their work.
Just spent the weekend at the Majapahit and was very happy with the hotel, having already experienced similar developments by the original owners ( Sarkies family), in Singapore ( Raffles) and Penang ( E&0). Location of the property is very convenient, a huge shopping centre across the road and the night comes alive with lots of street activity just outside the hotel. Hotel staff are very friendly and attentive.
Only one incident om the last night that almost spoiled a perfect stay was a front desk staff's lackadaisical attitude when asked to assist in placing drinks order (via the hotel bar or room service) in the hotel lobby after the lobby bar closed.
Unique experience for me as a historic lovers..every corner of this building, tells a story. Very friendly staff, beautiful spacious clean room, location very near to the mall & street dine too. Definitely will come back to stay in this hotel again if I visit Surabaya in future.
De mooie stijl van het hotel
niets
We arrived somewhat harried after traveling for over 24 hours and walked into an oasis of calm and elegance.
The staff made us feel so welcome with special thanks to Anna who helped us so much with ongoing travel arrangements.
Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices.
Our only regret is that we only booked one night, would have loved to stay longer surrounded by beautiful gardens, stunning architecture and smiling gracious staff.
It was so special to visit the hotel especially because my great grand father used to work in the hotel and I still got some old pictures of it. It was really recognisable and the people are the sweetest. Agus was happy to tell me a lot about the hotel and the history about the flag. Would love to come back one day to show it to my family.
We truly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Majapahit. The property is well located in the city and has a rich history. We took the historical tour of the hotel and Aldo was fluent in the hotel walkabout, relating it's origins and heritage.
We stayed in the Heritage Suite which we thought was both spacious, rustic and elegant. Everything worked fine though some of the furnishings looked a bit old, but still classic though.
The breakfast buffet had a lavish spread, so plenty to choose from. The freshly prepared omelette was excellent. We had Hi Tea and that was good too.
The other big plus for the hotel is its staff. Led by Mr Kahar, the GM - everyone is so hospitable and ever smiling to ensure an unforgettable experience at the hotel (thank you Nabella and Aldo).
Every time we visit Surabaya, we always stay at Hotel Majapahit. We love the rooms, the beautiful art deco building, and especially the warm hospitality. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and the location is fantastic—right in the heart of the lively city center.
Wunderschöne Anlage, super Personal und vieles mehr
Nichts
De allure van het gebouw is prachtig, alles zo mooi verzorgd, heerlijk zwembad, prachtige kamers, vriendelijk personeel. Pure verwennerij.
Niks op aan te merken.
