Great hotel. We stayed in the hotel rooms that are based in the apartment block across the road. It’s about a minute walk to the hotel. It was a lovely walk to breakfast every morning. We had 2 rooms as we are a family of 5. Our room which had 3 of us in was a bit cramped but we only slept in it and out all day so we didn’t mind
Breakfast was lovely plenty to choose from. Lovely outside area but the wasps were getting on my nerves so we sat inside which was a shame.
Spent 3 nights here in June during a mini heatwave, the trip was booked by our daughter as a gift. The hotel is a little away from the sights, but is on local bus routes, and a 10 - 15 minute walk to the train station. If you want to walk to some of the popular sights you're looking at 40 minute walk. There are a few local restaurants nearby which we used and were all excellent. The area felt very safe.
Our room was on the smaller side, but adequate, and spotlessly clean with a contemporary theme. We were bed and breakfast, the breakfasts were a little limited and locally themed. There was reasonable choice, it is a small boutique hotel so there isn't the choice you'd expect at a larger establishment. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. All in all we enjoyed our stay, but would probably book somewhere nearer the sights if we returned to Rome.
המיקום מצוין,קרוב לתחנות אוטובוס.
ארוחת בוקר טובה ממש.
הצוות מאד נחמד ועוזר
Limpieza y atencion
The Hotel was reasonably clean, rooms small but suitable and the breakfasts were good.
Reception staff were rude and operate a taxi scam.
Rome caps airport taxi fares (set at a fixed rate) primarily to protect tourists and visitors from overcharging and scams. By establishing a clear, flat-rate system for the most popular tourist routes, the city ensures a transparent price that travellers can verify before they even start their journey. The fixed rates (which apply to officially licensed, white metered taxis for up to four passengers with luggage) are legally regulated by the municipality.
As stated above, the white taxis have a capped fare both to and from Fiumicino Airport of 55Euro. ('Tariffario Taxi - Dali' Aeroporto di Fiumicino all'interno Mura Aureliane e viceversa'.)
Garden Hotel Reception wanted to charge 70Euro to the Airport, and consequently this was declined. I asked Reception to call me a regular white taxi, which they did. When the Taxi arrived reception checked the taxi (a little odd). On arrival at the airport we were demanded to pay 80Euro - I requested to speak to Police (there were none around - although this is the best option under these circumstances), but he continued to demand the money. The driver called the Hotel who had informed the Driver of the fare and who asked him for their costs. Time was ticking and the driver was paid the money to ensure that we were not late for the flight.
The Garden Hotel operates a Scam Taxi Service.
The Garden Hotel is undermining the city's positive intentions to protect tourists. You would be better avoiding the scam and the Hotel completely. Who knows what else is operating at the expense of tourists and their customers.
Taxi and Driver details have been shared with the authorities and the Hotel has also been reported.
Værelset var godt. Toilet og bad godt
Morgenmad kunne være bedre.
We have just had a fantastic stay at the Rome garden Hotel. We were originally booked to be in the annexe and after reading reviews we were a bit concerned. However we were pleasantly surprised to be placed in the main hotel when we arrived which was a relief. We were in room 105 which was a big spacious room with a lovely modern bathroom. The room had a safe and a large wardrobe and we had plenty of room for the 3 of us. The room was really clean and was made up for us every day and fresh towels provided every day too. We found all the staff we met to be very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was absolutely fine-lots of choice. Pastries, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, bread, cheese, ham plus coffee, tea and juices. We found plenty to choose from and were always able to find a table when we went down for breakfast. We found the location to be good-about a 30 minute walk from Trevi etc but we didn’t mind the walk at all. Overall a really great hotel that we would definitely recommend to others.
Stayed here for 3 nights and on arrival were told our room wasn’t ready, even though it was after check-in time.
We were eventually given our room, which was located within a residential block of flats where the hotel has purchased a large unit and converted it into six rooms. You can hear people showering, urinating, and talking in the neighbouring rooms. Entering the building felt unsafe and made us feel like second-class guests.
The constant noise from doors closing at all hours, including during the night, repeatedly woke us up. The beds were extremely uncomfortable — like sleeping on a concrete slab. We left feeling exhausted rather than relaxed due to the lack of sleep.
Breakfast is served in the main hotel, approximately a four-minute walk away, which is far from ideal in the rain. The breakfast selection was poor compared to other hotels I have stayed in. Once warm items ran out, they were not replenished. The juice tasted watered down and was personally quite unpleasant.
Regarding the safe in the room, I would recommend testing it before storing valuables inside. Ours displayed an error message, and staff spent around 20 minutes unsuccessfully trying to open it with the master key. I then managed to open it myself using the same key within 10 seconds.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It looks good on paper, but the reality does not match expectations.
