Hotel Alimara

Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff members, hotel very clean and comfortable throughout! Fantastic choice and tasty breakfast buffet. Lunch options very well priced and nice selection of food choices.

All good mainly.. The hotel is only a 3 minute walk from Mundet Metro station. It is about a 20 minute metro ride into city centre by direct L3 line and with a regular service. The staff at the hotel were fine and the buffet breakfast very good and plenty of variety. Room itself was ok apart from a bit of road traffic noise .. The main downside was the hopeless WiFi service in the room. Kept cutting out so I'd suggest to the hotel that they need to improve on that. Apart from that, very nice and reasonable priced stay for 3 night city break.

On first appearance all looked very good , room was spotless and comfortable until we tried to sleep, the traffic noise was awful and kept us awake every night .we ate in the restaurant on one occasion but the food which should have been hot was fridge cold . Staff are all very nice and helpful but I feel it lacks atmosphere .

I was fresh off a cruise ship, and arrived long before my room would be ready. The very helpful and friendly front counter person completed most of the check-in process, took my bags for safekeeping, and set me up on the hotel Wifi, using the room number I was assured would be my actual room. She provided a wonderful Alimara credit card-sized folding subway map and pointed out a few of the popular tourist sites. I was able to get online to figure out the fare system, and set off for a day of exploring.

w.r.t. the subway, it was clean, well lit, and I felt quite safe as a solo female traveller. There were however panhandlers and busking musicians actually riding on the subway, walking along the length of the train asking for money, which does not happen "back home".

When I returned, the front counter personnel had changed, as would be expected. Despite explaining that I had already been "mostly checked in", giving them my assigned room number, pointing out that my luggage was behind the counter, and I had the ticket stubs to prove it, I was asked to provide my passport for scanning again. I was given a different room number (there was no record of me being in the first room) and told I would have to pay the city tax. Fortunately, I had proof of the earlier payment on my iPhone, as well as the crumpled receipt in my pocket.

After that minor glitch, everything went more smoothly. I took my bags to the room, and felt safe heading out on foot to find somewhere for supper. The hotel is away from the centre of the city, but I prefer to find places away from the noise and bustle of big cities at night. It is right next to a subway station, however, and buying the right ticket can get you to the airport, if you aren't wrestling too many suitcases up and down subway stairs and escalators.

I never did figure out how to use the safe. Despite many travels in many countries, this one was a head-scratcher. According to the step-by-step illustrations, the first step seemed to involve a card slot, but my one and only room card was controlling the lights for the room, so once I retrieved it and returned to the safe, the room was pitch black... Maybe I was supposed to ask for a safe card at the front desk?

Oh, the supper place I set out for was NOT open despite what Google said. But I found an open cafeteria-like place nearby with lots of options for hot and cold meals, and a university hangout vibe, if you are OK without tablecloths and table service!

Not great. Good location and comfortable bed but that was all. Luckily only stayed one night. Awful smell in bathroom, not very clean and the shower flooded the bathroom. Wouldn't go again

The hotel was a little out of the town centre, but the metro was just around the corner, and it was very easy to navigate being on a central line. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean.

Was traveling with a group of friends and stayed at the hotel prior to a cruise. I didn’t choose and would never return to this hotel. For a tourist the location isn’t ideal, we spent a lot of money on Uber to get to the city center and there weren’t any nearby cafes or restaurants. However, it is close to Park Güell and La Sagrada Família. The front desk staff wasn’t helpful, the room was extremely hot and the safe didn’t work. Based on observation, the hotel caters to the business traveler and hosting business meetings.

Overall it was a good value for the money.

Had a lovely family stay at The Alimara for 4 nights. The rooms were very modern, clean and spacious with air conditioning which was a bonus. Lovely breakfast and very welcoming staff throughout the hotel who were very accommodating and always greeted you with a smile 😊 Would definitely recommend 👌✨️

Super comfy just ac warmer the best and far

An excellent hotel. The room and bathroom were both spotlessly clean and very spacious with plenty of storage. The staff were friendly and helpful. I emailed them prior to the stay to make a request and after as we had some lost property and they replied swiftly and were very helpful. The location of the hotel is fantastic a couple of minutes easy flat walk to the nearest metro station. We loved our stay here and highly recommend.

In general, this Hotel was perfect for our needs but I would recommended staying well away from the restaurant.
My son ordered breaded chicken tenders. When he bit into one it was completely raw. I nearly passed out. When I raised the alarm the waiter he simply took the plate. No apology. He then threw a plate of cooked chicken back on the table. Again no apology and I suspect it was the same plate that was thrown into the fryer as everything was overcooked. We were charged for the dish. Again no apology.
I ensured that I let reception know in the morning about the incident. Again I received no apology and no offer of a refund of at least the dish. Can I point out that I would never feel I had to write a bad review if the matter had even been acknowledged. Very very bad customer service.

I had a great stay at Hotel Alimara. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect and close to everything but still quiet at night. I’d definitely stay here again :)

Excellent location, with an easy 4 minute walk to the Barcelona Metro (MUNDET stop). Within walking distance to a few small eateries, and a supermarket right around the corner.

Hotel is extremely clean and exceptionally maintained.

Clean large room. Comfortable bed soft pillows Very quiet, coffee making facilities private parking under the hotel convenient for the Metro just a short walk . Close to supermarket. Helpful staff would return for another visit.love Barcelona
