We pulled up to check in and there was a sign on the door that read "Hotel closed until further notice" Got a reminder the week before about our upcoming stay. Hotels.com had no idea they were closed. We ended up paying a lot more for another hotel on such short notice. Very disappointed with Hotels.com service on this matter.
The property was closed upon arrival.
I had a reservation for this hotel April 8-10. I called on April 7 and asked if I could check out April 9 instead. I was placed on hold for 30 minutes and then put into the sales department voicemail. I then received an email that my entire reservation was canceled. After talking to three additional representatives, I was told conflicting stories about the entire hotel being closed. I was in disbelief. It is the day before my arrival and the hotel is closed? Was someone going to let me know? After two hours and having to rebook another hotel, I was offered no compensation or even an explanation. I finally received an email the evening of April 7 that the hotel was closed. After some googling, I read an article about an unfortunate act of vandalism that occurred at this hotel at the end of March. This hotel has known for a week and half that they would not be able to accommodate this reservation, but does not even afford their guests the same 24 hour courtesy they demand for a cancellation. I will never stay at Wyndham property again. This is terrible customer service.
Hotel was close I don’t have any notification the was close I get there I have to spend more money and another hotel . Was so estres because I was running a half marathon the day . On Springfield I’ll
The hotel was vandalized and did not have rooms available. I had to to go a different hotel to stay. No communication about the room, so I have paid twice for a stay. Not sure I will use hotels.com again.
Great staff
Asked for a high floor. Was given a low floor. Was not informed that the poil has been out of order for over a year. It is literally empty. They have a sign that says it is out of order and will tell you they are not sure if it will be open later or not. U have to go see for yourself. I took 2 sets of young twins. I booked that hotel exactly for the the high floor and pool. We were there an hour and I turned in our keys and walked across the street to a different hotel. Did i get my money back, you ask??? NOPE!!!! BUT IM GOING TO KEEP TRYING!
Interesting property to stay at for a Springfield visit. Strange room layout and kinda noisy with trains and elevator, but a good value for the area.
Booked for two nights, but left after one. Room was ok, but it was very windy out and a loud creaking noise kept us up all night. Also, the mattresses probably need replaced, pool was closed for maintenance, ice machine was broken. Hotel seems due for a refresh. Staff was pleasant.
The building made creeking noises all night because it was windy.
Not a good experience at all. Pool out of service and several other issues
Horrible! No AC on 26th floor, our room was 90 degrees, pool out of service, elevators were terrifying. My husband and son got stuck on 30th floor. Rooms were outdated and damaged. I think they were clean, it was hard to tell because everything was so run down. Staff tried to help, but they were overwhelmed themselves by all the problems, and there wasn’t much they could do. We were comped, but the whole weekend has left a horrible impression on us. Location was great for what we needed it for.
In town for a conference with session at this hotel and across the street. 3 hotel rooms booked here. Checked in two of them around 2pm. Was told the third was not available yet. She confirmed my phone number to get a hold of me when it was ready. Never heard from anyone. At 9pm return to the desk to find out they do not have a room for us unless we want a room without a working air conditioner for half price. Apparently this was an on-going problem for many guests as the two rooms in front of us were told the same thing. The offer was half price to stay in a room that was 90 degrees. Would not pay for us to stay in a room across the street. Offered to pay for a room at a hotel 12 miles away that was not of the same quality. I'm at this location so we can walk to our conference sessions. Not acceptable. One room had door lock troubles - one girl in our group was locked inside her room. The response from hotel staff was there was nothing they could do until 8:30 when maintenance arrived. Sit in a locked room for 45 minutes and arrive late to our conference? Unacceptable. We problem-solved ourselves and talked to the guest in the room next door asking if we could use their connecting room door to get out.
Absolutely horrendous property. No AC. Rooms were 88 degrees. Rain water poured in through the windows soaking the floors. The fridge in the room should be used an oven instead. Tried to shower to cool down a little and wound up being a half bath as the water didn’t drain. Went to inform front desk of all our issues and I type this as I’m stuck in the elevator!! Take it from me; DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY
Sounded like creaky door slamming outside our window constantly. Very load and constant.
Asked to be moved to lower floors due to the high winds. I asked if I could check out with no money lost and they accommodated this which I was grateful for.
Found Crowne plaza and it was a great switch. Still worth it even tho we had to commute daily for wrestling downtown.
This property is really in poor shape the pool is closed they are down from 3 elevators to 1 which caused my wife and kids to wait 20 minutes for them to get onto the elevator our room was 90 degrees cause the air conditioner was broke no ice in the ice box if you have ever been there u know what I mean by ice box (dorm size deep freeze) they don’t check anyone that parks in the parking deck so they charge the people that stay there but if u don’t pay u can still park we were there on a windy night and had to leave property and stay at another hotel cause the building was swaying in the wind I am not holding the piping and cracking of the torsion bars between the walls we have been going to this property for 9 years and this was the worst experience we have ever had even over heard that the city want to tear it down cause it is in such bad shape the worst part about it is that it could be a neat hotel and the location is perfect just needs someone that cares what people think take over
When we got there 2 out of the 3 elevators were not working .told the management about it and that it was a fire code violation and wanted money back, he said that they were wirking on them but they never got them all fixed. They were nice enough to give us a 3 floor room and up grade us to a suite but didn't help with elevators caused still had to wait 10 mins for elevators, still a fire code violation. Never again!!!
Nice hotel. A little dated. However it is in a small town.
We booked this because of the pool as we had two young girls who wanted to swim. The first desk person who checked us in, said pool hasn't been working for a while "waiting on part". After going to our room to find out the stool had no cover on the tank and did not work, we went back to front desk to get a different room. That desk person said, "pool just went down this week to be cleaned and that the other person had lied to us about waiting on a part". While waiting for them to get us switched to a second room, i heard Maintenace tell front desk, "Room 312 is NO GO - NO HEAT". We had family in a different suite, they woke up Sunday morning with no hot water. Front desk told them to come get a key to a different room, they could go take showers there. The bed skirts were nasty with some kind of while liquid stain on them. Ice machines didn't work so they had chest freezers on various floors with bags of ice in them. i am sure this facility was very nice in the 70's but has not been cared for since. The best part of this facility is the Starbucks just off the lobby and i don't drink coffee.
This was a family stay with another family. We chose this location close to our event that was taking place the next day and We were there to go swimming. We walked through the front door {no locked door or security situation}. When we checked in i said hello to the front desk staff and said i’d like to check in and he looked at me surprised. Then, we found out the pool was closed. We found out our friends got offered free parking {later when we parked our car we realized everyone was getting free parking}, the breakfast coupons they gave us said it was open between 6-9:30 and we got up to go down by 6 bc our event and our timeline. Then, when we get down there they told us that it wasn’t open until 6:30. I was shocked! Then, I asked the front desk employee why it wasn’t updated or why didn’t they at least tell us when we checked in. It was not busy when we checked in!! She did offer us a free drink from the coffee shop in the hotel. The room was not convenient or very clean. The building was shaking and you could hear it. Their were no hooks, only 3 towel for a junior suite. The room was a great size and the closet was huge for all of our hanging clothes. It was not a great experience!!
